Curiosity Survey :)

Would you do me a favor?

Out of curiosity, if you've been reading my blog and haven't commented, would you be so kind as to comment and tell me who you are, a basic idea of where you are from (if you want to disclose that!), and what types of posts are your favorite and which ones you dislike (not that I'll stop posting about what you dislike, but I just thought it would be interesting to know!)? If you'd rather not post this publicly, you can drop me an e-mail.

Of course, no one has to do this, but there have been so many visits to my blog recently and I was just wondering what the basic demographics of the readership was.

Thanks so much!

I am a married, Christian homemaker and Mom to one lovely daughter (age 12). I read a phenomenal amount of stuff, and have recently added your blog to my list of favorites. I like all of the posts, even the 'tough' ones (iron sharpens iron, right?). I live in Florida (hurricane country!). I have a wonderful, super-patient hubby who pretends not to see my many faults. I love God and want to be closer and closer to Him every day.

I've commented- so you know I'm here. :D Seems to be about the only way to keep up with you these days. :)

I like all of your posts, but especially the ones about what you're thinking about/different thoughts on subjects. :)

I am a 25 year old wife to my dh of almost 4 years and mother to two special girls, Ariana 2 and Lillian 1. I live in the mid-west in Indiana. I struggle with lonliness and lack of likemindedness. I enjoy reading your blog because you are a young mother like myself and many times seem like you are learning many of the same things I am learning and it's nice to read of someone else learning and growing in God's grace. I enjoy all the topics you cover and enjoy reading and hearing about your journey heavenward.

Hi, I'm Rachel. I've posted comments under that name a few times on here. I live in Australia with my DH and I'm the one who bought those books from you including Debi Pearl's book from you. (Which arrived in 7 days btw!)

Anyway, I'm the oldest of 7 children. Was homeschooled from grade 8 onwards, met my homeschooled husband that year and we becamse good friends. We moved here to Sydney when DH got a job here. I remember be intrigued by your posts and the fact that you were another married woman on YWAIC and kinda just lurked around a bit on your Covenant Wedding Source site. The kind of posts I like from you tend to be all of them!! :) I find your thoughts and comments on life and family etc thought provoking etc.

Anyway, hope that answers a few questions.

My name is Jessica and I'm 23. I'm not Christian, but was raised Catholic. I just like reading about people with different beliefs and lifestyles and yours is one of them. Although I enjoy cooking, gardening, etc. I also work on and race cars, ride motorcycles, and am a busy activist for causes I support. I live with my fiance and two cats.

I hold a Bachelor of fine Arts in Graphic Design and am currently pursuing my masters. Inevitably I would like to teach within the University sector, obtain my PhD and raise a child or two:)

Happy to meet you all and keep up the blogging

Hi! I'm similar to Jessica, who posted above. I was raised Lutheran, but currently do not belong to a church. I am fascinated with your posts and the life they reveal; I don't know any Christians like you, so I read to educate myself.

I didn't comment before because I was worried if you knew non-Christians were reading, you'd block us, and I really hope you don't-- your posts give me much to think about (obviously regarding faith, but also about marriage and being a good wife).

I work in public relations here in WI, I'm engaged and live with my fiance, and I have two cats.

I am a 23yr old married mother of two(under 2)with one on the way.We live in the very green, but very rainy Pacific North West.My husband and I moved here shortly after we were married.
Because of the lack of fellowship I come here to be encouraged.I think you have been married as long as i have so its neat and sharpening to see someone else going through the same things.

It looks like I am, so far, the only guy who admits to reading your site. I enjoy this and your other blog, and I hope that Jesse will get busy doing some writing on "Confronting the Culture" now that he is on break from law school. Thank you for the link to my blog on your page, by the way.

Sincerely,
CS

Good idea, Crystal!
I am Meredith, just-turned-30 mom of a 3-year-old boy. I'm a full-time homemaker and bargain hunter, and my family remodels houses for extra income. Still, I'd like to start a small business from home that will give us both tax benefits and a little extra income. I enjoy your entrepreneural spirit and am looking forward to reading your e-book about homegrown businesses.

Crystal... I've known you for a LONG time (since the first issue of "Polished Cornerstones"!) but we haven't had much personal contact for a while. I just recently rediscovered your blog and have very much enjoyed reading it. I like the way you address topics with passion and gentleness when most of us would tend to shy around them. :-)

I'm 22, the oldest child of 13 children all at home. I've been raised by two Godly parents and I love living at home, though I look forward to the day, God willing, when I can hold that role myself. I was homeschooled all the way through; I currently am working 65 hours a week between my two jobs. I work two days a week as a photographer at an 1800's theme park, and the rest of the time I work as assistant manager/baker/cook/waitress at our family's home business, a Diner and Bakery. My life is very full and God is very sustaining! My love for Him grows with every day, every month, every year of my walk with Him. May it grow sweeter until I meet Him face to face and spend all eternity with Him!

Hi Crystal, I just recently started reading your blog. I really enjoy it, and it is so helpful to me. Keep up the good work! In fact, your blog inspired me to start one of my own, here.

My name is Melissa. I am 21 years old, and I was married in January of this year. Here's Our Love Story. My husband, Tim, and I live in Portland, OR. Right now, I am working full-time outside the home as a nanny for two little girls, and Tim works from home as a computer and audio consultant. We love children, and we hope to start a family within the next couple of years.

I'm 24, married for 2 years to my protector, provider, and best friend, mama to two boys (ages 14 months and 36 weeks in utero). I love your blog, Crystal, mostly because I identify so much with your perspective and because we are a military family stationed in Germany, so likeminded encouragement is very hard to come by. Its encouraging to see other young couples who are finally resisting the lies of mainstream culture and reembracing the ancient truths of biblical roles and the blessing of children maintained consistently by the church until the 20th century. We often feel like the "weirdos" even among many Christians. Being advocates of biblical courtship and betrothal, it has honestly gone through my head to connect with your family at some point in the future....since we know Kathrynne will have been raised to be a godly woman....but I suppose that is jumping ahead of the game a little :)
Blessings always,
Alyssa
