Be Fruitful and Multiply

I just finished reading Be Fruitful and Multiply a few days ago and very much appreciated this book. How far our generation is from understanding what the Word of God has to say about children! I wrote down a number of quotes from the book which I will be sharing this week.
I highly encourage all couples to read this book together.
"There are many today who have changed the Word of the Lord in Psalm 127:3-4 to their own version, more suited to their lifestyle: 'Lo, children are a burden from the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is a curse. Depressed is the man who has children, and happy is the man who avoids them or has as few as possible.'"

We adopt our children (two so far) but we hope to have a whole houseful eventually. There are so many babies out there that need homes (our boys are of a different race than we are and were considered "hard to place". We believe children are a blessing from the Lord and we have been blessed soooo much by our two little men (ages 2 and 4 weeks). E
I guess I should amend my comments... I personally cannot give birth to children therefore we have adopted. I am NOT opposed to giving birth to LOTS of children :-).
I have to say that my DH & I agree. Too many people do view children as burdens and not blessings. They might have a child or two or three or more but they still talk about them negatively or call them "rugrats" etc. Whilst my DH & I are not QF we are open to having a large family and think that what God says is true...children are blessings!
OR they twist it around to say that "Oh yes children are SUCH a blessing!!!!!" (as long as they come in our timetable and heaven forbid we have more than we can "afford" or "can handle") I want to ask...at what point do they STOP being a blessing???
I'm not gung ho on "the bigger the family the better;" I simply want what the Lord wants for our family, and who am I to say what that is???
