Captivated with Careers or Ministry?

"One of the greatest deceptions of Satan is to seduce mothers to be captivated with their careers or ministry outside the home so they don't have time to create life. All their material 'things' will be left behind. Instead, they will be empty of that which they could have taken into Eternity-- the redeemed souls of their children."

I disagree. Mostly because I have known plenty of mothers that worked outside the home or semi-outside the home and rasied wonderful. Godly children. I don't think it is fair to say just because a mother works outside the home her children will fall.

what about female doctors and female ob/gyns? Personally I wouldn't want a male doctor. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. I don't even want to think what my boyfriend's reaction would. He would want to come with me to make sure the male doctor didn't do anything to me.

If people have a problem with working mothers, then don't be served by them!

Don't go to the hospital- they employ nurses that are wives, mothers. Don't eat out- the employ wives, mothers, and college girls to wait tables. Don't call customer service- most call centers employ mostly women. Don't fly- flight attendants.

It is like the people who think working on Sunday is a sin but then will eat out and get served by workers working on Sunday.

Ah, I just wanted to point out that God is the one who does the saving, not parents (moms). It is better for women to stay at home if they have children. It is better for the family but don't condemn the children to hell if mommy works. I know a very Godly woman who had 5 children and stayed home with them. All but 1 are living in serious sin right now. I admit, family should come before material pleasures and I think most Christians would agree.

Lyra Jean I totally agree with you. I always have femal Drs. During my first pregnancy I went through a miscarriage scare and had to be examined by the doctor on hand. It was a man and I was so embarrassed. I trusted him, ofcourse, but having a female OBGYN is so much more comfortable.
