Challenge of the Week: Do Something Domestic!

The word, domestic, according to Dictionary.com means:

Of or relating to the family or household: domestic chores.
Fond of home life and household affairs.

My challenge for you this week is to "Do Something Domestic" and then write me or comment here and tell what you did! Or, better yet, post it on your blog (with pictures, if appropriate) and then send me the link. Let us inspire one another to be the best "keepers of our homes" we can be.

Some of my "DSD" goals for this week:

-Finish hemming a skirt I am sewing.

-Go to the fabric store and buy a skirt pattern for myself and a jumper pattern for Kathrynne (anyone have any recommendations? Joann's is having all Simplicity patterns for $0.99 on Saturday.)

-Make Baguettes and Croissants (recipes from French Women Don't Get Fat)

Ooh... good motivation. I've had a pattern and fabric on my sewing table for weeks, waiting for me to tackle it! I'll do that this week. Sewing is so relaxing...

Is your outfit going to match Kathrynne's? My mom used to make outfits in matching fabric (but in different styles or with different embellishments) for herself and us four girls. I just loved that as a little girl.

I don't know if Simplicity still makes this one, but it is 7200 and has a little jumper on it with bloomers.
I have a bunch of cute little girl patterns, but alas, no girls yet! = )
I love seeing other people working in their dresses, I always work in a dress also, but don't know who would take pictures of me! = )

Yesterday afternoon I canned some salsa made from our counterful of garden tomatoes. :)
