What's Cooking at Your House?

Kathrynne and I just finished making 7-Grain Bread (she helped me pour each ingredient into the bread machine) and apple tart (she sat on the counter and watched and picked up the apples!). I'm getting ready to start fixing Golden Potato Soup for dinner as well.

What's cooking at your house?

When I get back from work... a Apple pie. :)

I got vanilla icecream on sale too; so we'll have that for a treat after prayer meeting tonight.

I've got a pot roast with carrots and potatoes in the crock-pot, and I'm about to start working on some biscuits. For dessert, probably just ice cream and cookies, or maybe the "apple topped biscuits" from the newest issue of "Quick Cooking" magazine, if I get more ambitious! :)

I have to say that the pot roast is smelling yummy, and I'm starting to get hungry!! :)

It will most likely be tofu, and organic whole wheat pasta and locally grown organic vegetables.

Fruit smoothies later...

Eh, you ask this on a day I'm not cooking ANYTHING. lol. Tonight's leftovers .... spaghetti.

Tomorrow, however, we're having chicken breast with some chicken rice-o-roni (to get it out of the house so I can get healthier replacements) and some steamed brocolli with shredded chedder cheese on top. :-)

Dh has just brought me a vegetarian recipe book (we aren't vegetarian) and so today we've had chick pea soup which went down well, savory muffins with cheese, olives and tomatoes. For dessert, we had fruit smoothies from the imagination not the book!

I will be having some leftovers from a second batch of Saturday's meal (described more fully on my blog): shrimp curry sauce (minus the shrimp) with rice, yogurt & fried eggplant... mmm, time to eat!

We had pasta, italian sausage, and cheese baked with sundried tomato sauce. We also had green beans sauteed with almonds and a romaine lettuce salad with carrots and celery. For dessert, I made a peanut butter cup dessert (out of a box but YUMMY).

We've been traveling since the adoption of our newest son last month so it's good to get back to home cooked meals! However, I've forgotten how challenging it can be to prepare food and do housework with the HELP of a 2 year old and a 6 week old attached to my body via a snugli.

Home-made basil gnocchi with pork medallions in a creamy parmesan sauce, and a mixed greens (from the garden-yay!) salad with vinaigrette. Yum, if I do say so myself. ;)

I don't cook alot of dinners. I work nights. But every weekend I try to make a treat for me and my friends. Last time I made Lemon bread using my grandma's recipe. Last weekend we invented a non-alcoholic drink as none of us drink. We named it Smurf on the Beach. Both recipes and my grandma's Luau Banana Bread recipe can be found on my blog: http://formerlostgirl.blogspot.com

Sorry Crystal I don't know how to link or I would put you in my links list. HTML :(

I got up and made lemon poppyseed muffins this morning for breakfast and we had them for lunch too because we ended up running alot today!

We had a a pasta dish I made from leftovers and corn on the cob. I took shell pasta, leftover taco meat (with tomatoes, enchilada sauce and green peppers in it) leftover grated cheese, and a packet of maceroni and cheese powder mixed with milk. It may sound strange, but it was good!

Crystal, I would love a 7 grain bread I could make in a bread machine! Can you use it in any bread machine?

Well when I first read this post this morning I was feeling very sick in the stomach so it was going to be a meal I made last week and froze (Spaghetti pie)...it still might be but I"m feeling better now and I know my DH would love a stir-fry so we'll see how I feel come dinner time. :)
