Adventures in Deep-Cleaning
I've been cleaning out our cupboards, drawers, closets, and shelves this past week. I get this cleaning "bug" every few months and try to take advantage of it to clear out some clutter! I never know how we manage to accumulate so much extra stuff, especially when I try so hard to not allow excess "junk" to stockpile.
Since we recently purchased a new digital camera, I've been motivated to start selling on eBay again. So, I've been busy posting small lots of household extras the last few days and I still have a whole stack of stuff to list. My efforts have already paid off since I made around $100 from eBay just yesterday. I hope my selling success continues because I am anxious to see these things on to another destination (and making money off of them in the process is never a bad thing, either!)
Want to See My Auctions and Store Items? (Not like any of you need any of my "junk" but maybe it will motivate you to get rid of some of your own stuff which is not being used and loved!)

Crystal, I think it may be a seasonal thing. It's hit me too. I've cleaned out every closet and the kitchen, trying to simplify and cut down...
Winter is coming.
I have to laugh seeing all the Vision Forum materials in your auctions. The list reads like a catalog!
The great thing is that they sell truly good books and people know it, so there's a good market for resale. It makes the initial purchase far cheaper if you can resell for almost what you paid.
Kim: Those VF items are all my store items, not my personal items-- What's in my eBay store is some of my inventory for Biblical Womanhood, that I sell through my website as well. Just thought I should clarify that I'm not trying to auction off my own VF stuff! I love Vision Forum!
Goodness, a size 2 skirt?! lol ;)
I hope you make some money... I love cleaning and get the itch to go through the whole house every now and then :D
Those of you who love to clean, feel free to come here to Ohio and knock yourselves out! My living room looks like a tornado hit... albeit a TWO YEAR OLD tornado LOL.
Have you ever noticed that an uncluttered area refills TOO quickly? Just when I've truly located my kitchen table, I find it buried under my husband's work materials, church stuff, Leap Pad books, and burp clothes. Someday...
Ah, you've motivated me to ask Daddy again about how to post some of my stuff up on ebay. =)
I just took two HUGE boxes to the Goodwill! Maybe I should have tried to sell them first, but I just wanted them out of my living room:o)
I've been selling things left and right - mostly books and a few music CDs on Amazon - I've netted $132 in about 10 days. My Ebay sales (mostly a few pieces of good jewelry I no longer wear nor like) have not been doing as well as I'd hoped, but I should still be making about $50.
Seeing the sewing pattern you had posted reminded me to dig out and Ebay a pattern I had bought when I was going to begin sewing earlier this year. I decided I don't want such a clutter-creating habit, so I'm not going to pursue it at this time.
How do you make anything with bidding beginning at one cent? I've always been curious about that!
LOL, I've been hit by the "bug" too! I did a massive pitch and toss of my clothes last week, giving most to my sister, and the rest to Goodwill; it's insane how clothing in particular just seems to accumulate. My fiance jokes that my closet "breeds" clothes. :P I also did the pantry and kitchen. Next stop: my office. (yikes!)
I'm like you, Crystal. I don't like lots of "stuff" around, so I LOVE seasonal cleaning, and giving it all to people who actually need it!
You only start items at one cent that you either know will sell well, or that you are just plain trying to get rid of! If you start it at one cent, you save $0.10 per listing. So, if I know the item is going to be bid up (a "hot" item), I'll start it at one cent to encourage bidding and to save a little money. :)
