No More Harriet?
Interesting developments are taking place in the Mier's nomination.
Is the White House fabricating excuses?
And, just so things don't get too serious around here, don't miss this breaking news about Baghdad Bob's involvement with Harriet Miers.

I just wanted to leave a thought - and I'm sure most of us will agree with this, I just wanted to remind us all - we will never be pleased with government, leaders, etc. because our citizenship is not of this world. I made the comment to someone the other day that I am not proud to be an American to several other Christians and received several shocked looks. "But don't you know how horrible it is everywhere else?" was their reply. Yes, I am pleased to live in America, and if I had to choose, I would likely still choose America - but that does not mean that I am proud of it in many ways. But this is because I will never be proud of any citizenship except my citizenship in the kingdom of God! We will always feel opposition to our government and have disagreements and feel some displeasure.
That being said - let's not forget that God is in control, and that His will for us is to respect our leaders as well as to pray for them.
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
I think in all discussions - we need to remember that we are called to speak truth and to teach others, but we are also called to respect our government (Rom 13) and to pray for those in leadership, not simply to criticize them for their actions!
