"However, most women and girls have no idea that dressing immodestly hurts their pursuit of value. By defiling men's minds, they cheapen themselves in men's eyes. Women who dress immodestly have become items for public viewing, because of the way they have marketed themselves. By being walking advertisements, they are not going to get the kind of love that loves them for who they are. They are going to get love that is "time's fool", that is dependent on the way they look. In the end, this only makes them have to search harder to find satisfaction."

The wrong role models, and a lack of focus and realization as to what their potential is.
We just lost a great role model today. Rosa Parks is an inspiration to all women. Girls need to look towards women who sought attention and notariety not for what they wore (clothing and labels) but who they were as people, and how they contributed to the good of humanity.
It seems that the premise for this statement is all wrong: it assumes that the criterion for proper dress is "the response likely to be elicited," and while this is certainly a viable consideration in deciding what you will wear tomorrow, it seems that a truly Christian basis for modest dress begins with the fact of a woman's underived dignity as a human person, and furthermore, her understanding of the significance of her body in light of the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. In short, a woman should dress in accord with who she is as a (redeemed) person, regardless of the audience. Consideration of the audience, out of charity and respect, is a significant component, but a secondary one.
Thanks for that, MM. Great point.
