A Goal for 2006
For anyone very observant, you will have noticed a absence of "Up-For-Debate" topics the past two weeks.
Frankly, I've been working very hard to keep my priorities in order and that means that blogging takes a backseat to other things in my life. I also have had so many other things to post about when I had a chance to do so, that I haven't felt the need to try and stir up controversy, just for controversy's sake. Maybe I'll post future "Up-for-Debate" questions, maybe I won't. We'll see.
I just really didn't like this blog taking the direction of a debate forum as it seemed it was becoming for a short while. I want to confront feminism and humanism and will come out strongly against those, but sometimes I think that it is more important to live my life, share what God is doing and teaching me, and focus more on encouraging and equipping women.
No, I'm not backing down, nor do I plan to try and "water down" the what I believe to be truth, nor am I going to be silent on issues that are near and dear to my heart. But, don't want to get out-of-balance. With that in mind, I am hoping to make this more of an uplifting, encouraging blog. I want to promote beauty. I want this to be a haven where you can come to for encouragement and blessing. That's one of my goals for 2006.
Thank you for being here, for reading, for commenting, for emailing me. You all are a blessing to me. You have taught me so much and God has used each one of you to conform me more into His image.

I think it is wonderful that you are so in tune to what you feel God has planned for you. I'm sure no one will think you are "backing down" or watering down your message. It's nice to be known for what we are "for" and not just what we're "against"!
:0)
I have to agree with Jenna. I love it when you share about your own life. How you're struggling and how you're finding God in that. I find your simple honesty the places I learn the most.
Well, I will miss the dabate topics as they keep my mind sharp, which I need as I don't have alot of adult conversation! I understand what you mean and am looking forward to how you are going to fufull your goal!
Thank you, Jenna and Lydia! You are an encouragement.
Martha, don't worry, there'll be plenty of things to discuss still and I'm sure I'll throw in a debate question here and there. :)
Oh, good! = )
Glad to hear it!
