A New Year

2005 has come to a close -- and it has truly flown by for me, especially now that I am a mother. Seeing my little daughter grow from newborn to toddler in one short year gives me a new realization that "time is short" and I need to seek to make every day count.

We spent last night and this morning getting our business finances all in order for the end of the year and we will be spending this afternoon shopping and spending some of the excess business money on supplies and electronics so that we can cut our end-of-the-year profit levels down to avoid having to pay a large amount of taxes. (I'd rather invest the money in something to help grow the business than pay excessive taxes!) Oh the joys of being small business owners!

We will be spending this evening with some dear friends of ours -- fellowshipping, playing games, singing and playing instruments, and a special time of prayer as we ring in the New Year. Does your family have any special traditions for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day?

May the Lord bless you all in 2006! "See" you next year!

We have the past few years prayed at midnight for the coming new year and then had a feast afterwards to celebrate. The church Fred goes to has a huge celebration, that would be fun if it was in English! = )

No real traditions here. We've spent tonight in Bible study and prayer. We shared a glass of Welch's sparkling white grape juice. I'm actually sick, so I probably won't even make it to midnight. Right now hubby is napping cuz he worked a 10hr shift, then we'll continue with our Bible study and maybe watch a movie (which is probably how I'll fall asleep lol).

We don't have any traditions. Normally, we do a watch night service at church, but since it falls on a Saturday this year that isn't happening. Everyone else is actually in (or on their way to) bed right now... I plan on journaling and writing and reading in the Bible and just preparing for the new year quietly and will turn the light off promptly at 12 since church starts early tomorrow and I have meal to make beforehand.

I WISH I was with our friends the Morrisons... they live in NY and are on times square passing out tracts. That sounds like a super way to bring in the new year. Maybe one of these days...

Happy New Year!!

We've never really had any traditions, but this year I set my alarm early and got up to watch the sunrise. There was something really special about "feeling" like the new year was really new by watching a day wake up and just talk things quietly over to God, giving Him all that was last year and asking Him to guide the next. I'm thinking I'd like to try and do it again next year...and maybe the next.

Crystal,

Hi it's been a while since Seanna and I last saw you. I need to talk to you about how to properly set up a blog for our new video "Garments of Praise" with paypal etc... I haven't quite decided if I am going to do a web-site or not but wanted to ask you a few Q's since you seem to make yours work.

I like your headline-it's very pretty.

ooops-I forgot to give you my e-address. It's holling72@aol.com

I did not have yours and Seanna is in Mexico at a cancer clinic for her Grandmother so I don't have your address.

Thanks!

Femalepassingby: There are man, many affilaite programs out there. Do a search on my sidebar for "affiliate" and it will bring up a list of various things on my website that I've written and/or recommend.

Mrs. H: Welcome! Good to hear from you. If you were interested, I could pass along the name of the woman who designed my header who could probably help you out with setting up a simple website with Paypal for a small fee. I'd help you myself, but I am rather limited in time. My email is on the blog sidebar, if you'd like to send me an email concerning this. I might be able to answer your questions in a quick email, though.

Dionna: Welcome!
