Have a Blessed Sunday!

My husband and I have committed to set aside every Sunday as a day of rest and renewing our spirits in the Lord. We keep our computers off and also have purposed not to spend money, except in the case of an emergency (Please note: This is something we just feel God would have for our family for this season of our lives -- If God hasn't led your family to similar convictions, that is totally okay!). This has been such a blessing to us to have one day in seven which is free from the normal distractions of life in order to focus on the Lord and each other and to rest and quiet our hearts before the Lord.

Last week, I instigated comment moderation on Sunday and it worked so well, I have decided to do this every Sunday. For those who may be wondering what comment moderation is, it is a feature on Blogger that I can select which allows you to comment, but the comments won't show up until they are approved. You are free to comment, but I won't be reviewing or approving any comments until Monday. This just allows me one less distraction on Sunday.

May you have a blessed day of rest and refreshment tomorrow!

I am on the computer today, but if many people are convicted like you then your blog will be almost empty!!I actually can see how the computer can come across as a hard way to talk to people such as in the topics of being not of the world.Anybody can come across as harsh ,also the original ideas get forgotten and then people argue back and forth about little blurb that gets blown out of porption.

As I have said before you are an intelligent young lady that God uses for now in a computer ministry,As funny as it would sound there are probably some people out there who think computers are conforming to the world and are sinful.I guess no matter what we say ,think and do at times people are always going to say harsh ignorant things.

I for one have found the Christian blog world very interesting and have had my brain sparked to investigate more on different subjects.I have read many books that I doubt I would have read if it had not been for the many blogs that I have come across.

Keep blogging for now and when this ends just think of what God has in mind for Chystal.Public speaker, out of sight for awhile(an example-so busy with your daughter and many more children that you are meant not to blog or work on a magazine)-the list goes on!!

Crystal, I think it is a great idea you have for the honoring of the Sabbath. As you can see, we still use our computer on Sunday, but my husband and I have also chosen to not spend money on this day. We try to focus on God and His blessings as much as we are able. We do this by attending services in the morning as well as our evening service. In the mid part of the day, we either have lunch at my husbands Mom's house or spend it leisurely at home.

Crystal,

What a neat way to honor the Lord's day! Our family does not use the computer on Sunday, or do work other than meals and dishes. Unless there is an emergency of course! We also don't like to shop, or even eat out on Sunday as we don't like to think of all the people that must work to have the stores open on Sunday.

Its encouraging to hear that someone else has a similar way of setting aside time for honoring God on His holy day. Our family likes to focus on Him that day and then on special time together as a family and reaching out to other like our Grandmother who is in a nursing facility.

We want our Sunday to be set aside, and precious as we serve, worship and honor Him.

Shannon
