One Year Ago Today...

...I gave birth to a little baby girl. My life will never be the same. I am so blessed.

"For this child I prayed and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of Him..."

In honor of her birthday, I'm posting pictures of her very first "ponytail" which I succeeded in getting her hair into a couple days ago. I had no clue it would take such effort and work to get her little wisps of hair into the tiny velcro clip all the while trying to keep her still enough to do so. After many failed attempts, we finally did it. Here's proof:

And, the back view. The lighting showed up best on this for some reason. I really need my photography-whiz sister to give me some pointers on shooting better pictures. I have no skill in that area. But, oh well, at least I take a lot of pictures. Someday maybe I'll know how to take "good" pictures. :) In the mean time, anytime I see a little girl with a clip or ponytail in her hair, I am going to have a much greater appreciation to her mother for the effort she put into getting the ponytail or clip there in the first place!

Very cute. I could never get any ponytail holders or barrettes to stay in my daughter's hair...so you really did accomplish a feat!

Happy Birthday Kathrynne!
The pictures are so cute!
Crystal, I didn't realize that Kathrynne is exactly four months older than my little girl. She seems so much older.

Awww! My niece is SOOOOOO adorable!!! : ) Those pictures remind me a lot of pictures we have of when you were that age and mom used to do your hair sort of like that! (And by the way - you did a great job taking those pictures...babies'/toddlers' pictures are THE hardest to get "perfect"!!)

Please tell Kathrynne "happy birthday" for me and give her a big hug from her "auntie"! I can hardly wait to see her tomorrow! See you then...

Cute! My little sister had those kind of ponytails when she was little, except we called them a "fountain".

Crystal, I remember when you were pregnant with your daughter because I was also pregnant with my first daughter (born in April). I enjoy seeing pictures of your daughter and comparing them with my baby, since they are only a few months apart (Though I will be surprised if my daughter has enough hair to put in a ponytail on her first birthday). I hope you have enjoyed your first year of motherhood as much as I am enjoying mine. Your daughter is a cutie : )

Happy Birthday, dear Kathrynne! I pray you will grow in wisdom, grace and favor with God and Man. You are blessed to have such godly, loving parents.

Crystal, such adorable pics. It's hard to believe a full year has gone by! I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow, as well. Are you doing anything extra special for her first birthday?

Thank you for all the kind words for Kathrynne. She had a special day. I'll have to post some pictures early next week, if I get a chance.

I've been realizing more and more how quickly time does go by. I've been trying to invest it mor ein Kathrynne -- just being with her, playing with her, rocking her, holding her, talking with her, and loving her. I want to look back in 50 years from now and be glad with how I spent my time. There are so many good things in life that try to squeeze out the best things!

Anne: Surprisingly, the ponytail stayed in for about 20 minutes. :)

Happy Birthday to your sweetie!

A lot happens in one year. Doesn't it go by fast?

George had his first haircut a few weeks ago and, boy, did he wiggle.

You ae very fortunate that Kathrynne has any hair. My neice really didn't have any until she was 2.
