The Best Valentine's Day in Many Years
First of all I want to thank Crystal for having a Valentine's Day contest for single young women. Ever since then my mind hasn't been on myself, the thoughts of being "single" and turning 22 in two months with zero prospects, and all the sappiness between SO many of my friends who are courting, engaged, or married within the last year.
Since the contest idea was thrown out, my mind has been on, "What can I do for someone else who is single? How can I encourage them?" and it has just been so wonderful! I don't say this to brag or boast, but maybe if you are feeling "down in the dumps" today, maybe it will inspire you. =) I know Crystal's post did, for me!
Anyway, because of being very busy this morning and in town all afternoon, there was no way that I could do anything special, and so I am hosting a Valentines Tea tomorrow, early afternoon. I have a candle for each young women, as well as the booklet, "A Maiden in Waiting" for them to take home as little gifts. The candle they can use or save for their hopechest, and the book I think will be an encouragement. =)
As far as the physical nourishment enjoyment, I will be serving tea (we have several kinds to offer), Apple-Nut muffins, Pumpkin bread, and anything else that comes to mind between then and now. =) (Any last minute ideas for me? No chocolate ideas, because our "guest of honor" can't have it because of heart conditions...)
So far my guests will be my sister Erin and a dear friend. Anyway, that is basically my plans and though I would love it if someone would share something on waiting on the Lord, but I don't like to make "speeches" of any kind, so Crystal's book will have to do. =) -Cheri
