Just Because You Asked...

I hesitated to post pictures lest anyone think me a terrible mom, but, since so many people requested it, here are pictures of our little lipstick-painted culprit. Her sweatshirt was brand-new and bright white without any stains before the incident. Hey, at least she seemed to put the bulk of the liptstick on her lips. :) I didn't take a picture of our bedroom so I'll just leave that mess to your imagination!

Oh, my. She looks so happy about it, though! "Look, Momma--I'm a big girl like you!" She's been watching you. ;) That, or she just likes eating anything she finds, like most kids. ;)

You are not a horrible mom! One day when we lived at the farmhouse, Katie discovered a bat when I was in the next room. Shocking! I have no idea where he came from or what she might have done to him (he might have been in her toy and got a good shaking before I found him on the floor next to her). Things like this will happen! ;) But I know how you feel.

Thank you for posting the pictures Crystal! She is so cute. I guess that is just one more thing that I have to look forward to when my little girl starts walking (or crawling). I have to watch her enough as it is and she is only rolling around. Thanks again for posting the pictures!

Don't be embarrassed! Kids will always find a way. That said, I agree with Nicole: she looks thrilled to be just like mommy. Who, incidentally, has excellent taste in lipstick colours.

This sort of thing happens to all of us moms. Good for you for finding the humorous silver-lining.

I agree with t.comfeyshoes, the lipstick color is really pretty!

The greatest coping skill I've learned as a mom is this:

When in doubt, take a picture.

Lipstick everywhere...
Cereal on the couch...
Baby's mouth full of dog food kibbles...
Baby with dead ladybug coming out of nose (don't ask...too gross)...
Toddler with two handfuls of skin cream in his hair...

When in doubt... take a picture.

Hi Crystal,

Gosh Kathrynne is just adorable, and she wants to be like her mom! She did a pretty good job putting the lipstick on, for being so young! Bless her heart!

That is just adorable! Thanks for posting the pictures. I can imagine cleaning it all up wasn't a laughing matter, but what a precious memory you will always have!

I think she looks adorable! Save those pictures for when she's older. She will get a kick out of them!

Thanks for sharing this! My son (3)is notorious for this sort of thing. He has put toothpaste in his sisters bed, emptied my red nail polish all over our bedroom (EVERYWHERE!), and coated the kitchen with 15 cups of flour! Oh yes, then there was the bean bag chair that exploded . . .we just won't go there! Anyway, I don't think you are a bad mother--I just pray for you for strength and wisdom 'cause I need it too! Good luck and thanks again for sharing--it makes me feel better knowing there are others out there like my precious son!
