One of My Favorite Days
Yesterday was Valentine's Day, and as a single young woman, Valentine's Day is one of my favorite days of the year. I prepare for this day beginning usually in May. One of the things that I really enjoy, is making cards. Cards with different frilly trim, cards with flowers and hearts; it's something I really enjoy doing. For all of the ladies of my church, I make special Valentine cards that I think will match each of the ladies. Some ladies like Victorian things, some like more of a 'country' look. I make the cards, and fill them with just an encouraging note, and verse. I try to bring them to remember God's love for us, and the sending of His Son to die for us. Each year I usually make between sixty and eighty cards. I bring them tied with ribbon to church on the service closest to Valentine's Day. I usually include a sweet treat with the card, as well. I am so thankful that God is able to be glorified in giving me the ability and the love of card making. I am so thankful to be used and minister to the ladies of my church in this way. -Martha B.
