Deny Christ or Die
I know I am a little late in the game, but I just found out, thanks to La Shawn Barber, that a former Muslim who has converted to Christianity is now facing death unless he denies Christ.
Let's pray and act.
And, let's ask ourselves: If I were facing death unless I denied Christ, would I stand strong? We never have to consider this kind of persecution in our land, but it may very well someday come to that.
If your faith is not worth dying for, your faith is not worth living for.
Let's pray and act.

I blogged about this news story too. There are MANY modern-day martyrs in other countries.
On the other hand, ponder this: couldn't your work for Christ be spread easier if you were alive? Being a martyr for Christ is a glorious thing, but so is spreading His Gospel (yes, the argument can be made that his death because of faith will speak loudly, I don't deny that). I think of many international Christians (like many in China) who have to consistently deny Christ (publicly that is) in order to keep their missions / ministries working under ground.
Thoughts?
Hi, Matt! Interesting question. I think that one's view of this would probably lie in whether or not they believe the end justifies the means.
I personally believe that we can trust God, obey Him, and leave the results to Him. I don't see where there is ever an exception in Scripture where it is okay to lie or to deny Christ.
Mt 10:33 - But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
2Ti 2:12 - If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
That said, I've never had to experience any personal physical suffering for my beliefs. I've endured many attacks on my character, my name, my reputation, etc. for the sake of the Gospel, but that is nothing like having a knife pointed to your throat ready to slice your head off if you will not renounce your faith. I still would hope that should I ever have that happen, that I would be willing and ready to die for what I believe.
This post really convicted me of my weakness. I'm going to try to be more confident when it comes to sharing my beliefs with those who are not like-minded. Like Crystal said, they may attack my character or reputation...or more likely, laugh at me, but it is unlikely that I will ever experience what this poor man is going through.
I really think that it would be wrong to deny Christ so that I can live. Even if I continued in the ministry and spread the Gospel. I would rather trust in God and let His providence lead. If it meant I died, so be it.
Of course saying this is easier said, but I pray that I would have the strength to do what is right in this kind of thing.
Christians are being brutalized all over the world. There have been many killed due to their conversion away from Islam to Christianity. This man's case is so important. If Democracy of any type is to take hold in Islamic nations, freedom of religion is essential.
I pray that this man remains strong. God has plans for him I am sure.
i think if God really thought you needed to stay alive to keep spreading the gospel, He could work a miracle and spare this man's or any other Christians life. There were many, many Christians, nowadays and as far back as Jesus' time, that were sentenced to death and some that could not be killed or when they were killed things happened that spoke more to the crowds than a man's life could. I know it speaks over an dover how when they would kill one, 1000's would spring up. They finally to try to overcome the Christians had to stop killing them to do so.
