Update on Baby Gracie

Dear Crystal,

Thank you so much for posting the prayer request for Gracie on your blog.
"While her mommy and daddy were holding her, Gracie peacefully passed into the Lord's presence at 12 PM today." (www.caringbridge.org/visit/graciehopkins)

Please pray for Eric and Holly Hopkins and their families at this heartbreaking time!
in Christ,
Jennifer McBride

A poem for Eric and Holly’s Little Angel, Gracie

O, our Little Angel,
If you had only lived,
There’s nothing in this whole world
That for you we would not give..
On clouds of love we’d lay you down,
Tuck moon-beams round your sides-
We’d dim the light of distant stars,
And sing you lullabies.
We’d linger by your cradle
As we’d gaze at you in awe;
To us you’d be our own angel,
Too perfect for this world.
You must have dreamt of Heaven,
For you decided not to stay,
The angels came and took you
From our arms in which you lay.
Now Jesus gently rocks you
In His strong and tender arms-
We know now, Little Angel,
You are safe from any harm.
Lord, lay her down
In a cradle of gold,
Tuck rainbows round her sides-
Cover her with Your angels’ wings,
And if she ever cries,
Tell her Mom and Dad are coming
Just as soon as she awakes-
Please kiss our little angel, Lord,
And love her in our place.

I have been praying for this little soul. My heart is breaking for her parents, but I know she is in the arms of Jesus tonight. It's my only comfort at this tragedy. Every day I thank God for my healthy little ones...

There are no words I can think of to bring comfort to these parents. My prayers are with them and the Lord will bring them His strength and comfort. God bless them.

God be with the family at this time. May they take comfort in knowing that their daughter is with our Heavenly Father right now, safe in His arms. :-)

We, too, have experienced the loss of a child. Our son died in July of 1997. His name is Owen and would be 9 this coming summer. Oh, I remember the pain and anguish like it were yesterday. I am thankful for the smarting tenderness we still feel today. It urges us to long for Christ. He conquered death itself- it's sting and victory. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
