A Pastor's Plea

I just had to bring your attention to this post and this pastor's plea. He is definitely not alone.

I agree with this Pastor totally. It really blows me away how some will attend services in cut off shorts and tank tops. No one has to shop at Sax Fifth to have respectable church clothes. It is a cop out and excuse for most people, especially established believers to dress inappropriately in worship and holy events.

Great article and yep, he is not alone! www.latterdaybride.com has beautiful modest gowns for every occassion. I know, that's the Mormon church, but they have the right idea when it comes to modesty for women. I have also did a search for modest ball gowns online (when I was looking for a military ball dress), and www.beautifullymodest.com has some nice things, but a little pricey.

Does anyone else know of any other online shops that offer modest gowns? I am asking cuz I just found out my hubby's unit is going to have a military ball in October.
Thanks!

I so agree with this pastor. My two daughters are in a wedding in June. They will be the only bridesmaids with extra material sewn in to cover the back and with added sleeves. I'm proud of them for wanting to be modest even though for sure they will stand out as different.

Yes, I totally agree with this Pastor! I have sewn and altered many wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses in the last 7 years. Everything used to be short sleeves, but now all gowns are strapless or have tiny spaghetti straps.

To me it is very inappropriate to dress this immodestly for any church event, especially for Biblical grounded believers. Even thought it is hard to find modest clothing for special events, it CAN be done if you look hard enough!

I took my dad wedding dress shopping! It has become one of my favorite memories since being married 18 years ago!
