Consistency
I've heard many, many parents toss around that word before but I'm finally learning what it truly means and how important it is and how hard it is to exercise it sometimes.
As parents, let us never give up! Someday all this perserverance will be worth it. It helps to be reminded of that, at least it helps me. :)

Amen sister. My 22 month old insists on climbing on top of the kitchen table and the top of the dresser. He also plays with the printer and gets into my purse. He broke my favorite sunglasses. :-(
I find if I watch him all of the time, and tell him to "stop," as I see him about to do a "no no," he looks at me like "how did you know?" the he goes off and happily plays.
On times when he gets to the no no before I get a change to tell him to 'stop,' he gets a firm 'no no' and a little slap on the hand or the backside. Not that it'd hurt, but just to let him know I'm serious.
I know that if he gets away with it even once, it'll give him confidence to try to get away with other "no no's" later.
Consistency...LOL! I've often felt that God has given us children to teach us, as much as He has for us to teach the children. Sometimes I wonder who is learning the bigger lesson. ;o)
I guess that is where that verse about God working 'ALL things for His glory and our good' comes in. :o)
