Happy Thursday!
Good morning! I was checking my email for a few moments and had a chance to read this article. Very insightful and thought-provoking.
Kathrynne is sleeping in late this morning, so I just finished a long, leisurely time of reading God's Word, praying, and reading some devotional books. How refreshing!
I'm off to finish my morning cleaning jobs and to make apple pies with Kathrynne. I have a big bag of apples that I got for $1 last week and I need to use them up soon. Maybe I'll make some applesauce and apple muffins as well. We'll see...
It's a lovely day and I'm thinking about taking Kathrynne on a walk in a little while. After both of us being sick all last week, I'm ready to get out and get some fresh air and exercise!
Anything exciting happening at your house today?

Well, we are getting ready to move.....you, Crystal, already know that and I know you will be praying for an "uneventful" move for us.....I was hoping that anyone else who may read this and think of it, would pray too that our move be smooth and that the the baby and the 2 year old are well cared for and don't get too exhausted with all this going on. Also too, that the rest of us would keep our focus on God and that we wouldn't let the "bumps" get to us.
We have moved 26 times (retired military) and know what to do, but with us having to first go to a different state to get our household out of storage and THEN back to another state, it is going to be a LONG week.
So with that said, HEY!!!! that's what's going on in our lives at the moment. Thank you so very much if you do pray for us.....I means a great deal to me. :-)
Once we get settled in our new home, I am hopefully going to be updating my blog on a regular basis.....I have so much I want to write (especially since I am nursing Isaac so much at night it gives me tons of time to think).
Hi Mrs. B, Hi Zan!!!!! Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you....Hope you are both doing well!!!!!!
Happy Thursday to you too;-)
I'm not sure yet what we will do today, but it is a lovely day. I think I might make fresh lemonade(got some lemons from my Mother-in-law) and perhaps some homemade ice cream.
Have fun with the apple pie making.
Blessings,
Sommer
Sounds like fun Crystal. And C.A. Worcester, you can count on me to say a prayer for you!
As for me, my little guy learned to walk last week. So, today I've been following him around, sending my blood pressure sky-high, as he flies head-first into anything and everything. Despite my edgy nerves, though, it is fun!
Otherwise, we're just running errands and just enjoying the day as much as possible.
I just came across a fantastically simple bread recipe. I used to use the whole olive oil, ground flax seed, egg combination, but lately haven't had great success- and I've been a bread baker since 1999! So I found a simpler one and just let my bread machine make the dough for me. Then I shaped it and let it rise in the oven and went from there! It was so good, my children polished off over half for lunch, so I just put more ingredients in the bread machine for some more dough!!!
It's such a beautiful day here!
Had a wonderful fellowship time with some of the ladies of our church this morning, a lovely luncheon with our little one and husband, and plan to go out later this afternoon to plan the layout of our FIRST EVER garden! I'm so excited!
Your morning sounded refreshing - I hope you have a great rest of the day! Do share the apple bread recipe - I have some apples too that are needing to be used. :)
Praying for you, Cheryl!
Oh, homemade icecream, Sommer. Yum!
Megmarc -- isn't it amazingly frightening when they first start walking? Kathrynne has fallen so many times that I am surprised she hasn't badly injured herself. Sometimes I think she needs to wear a body cast and a helmet for safety.
Sherri -- can I have the recipe, please?? Sounds delicious!
Katie -- first ever garden?! How fun! I can't wait until we move into a real home (hopefully soon!) and I can have a garden. I love digging in the dirt and reaping the fruits of hard labor.
Okay, it is really so simple, so don't be fooled by the scarcity of ingredients!!
1 1/4 C hot water
1/3 C honey
1 1/2 tsp Real Salt
3 C whole wheat flour
1/4 C vital wheat gluten
2 tsp instant yeast (SAF or Fermipan)
I just put these ingredients in the order listed in my Zoji and set it for the dough cycle. The result is a very soft, light dough- but with lots of air bubbles. So lightly roll the dough, then shape it and place in bread pan to rise. Bake for 25 minutes (approx) in a 350* oven.
Enjoy!!!
Thank you, Sherri! I just printed this out and plan to make it next week. Thanks for sharing!
