Mother's Day Contest!

We just got back from a wonderful weekend of visiting our families so I'm a bit late in getting information on our Mother's Day Contest put up. My apologies...

This week, we are celebrating motherhood here at Biblical Womanhood and we'd like for you to join in the festivities. We are giving away a brand-new ERGO baby carrier (almost $100 value!) to one randomly selected entrant, compliments of New Little Blessing. I'll post a review and pictures of this incredible tool for moms a bit later, but for now, here are the rules:

To enter the contest all you have to do is submit something to do with mothering or motherhood. All submissions will be considered for publication on this blog.

To get your creative juices flowing, here are a few things I'd love to see:

-An essay on what you love about being a mom.
-An essay on why you are thankful for your mom.
-A poem on mothering or mothers.
-A previous blog entry you have written about being a mom, or about your mom
-Insightful quotations on mothering
-A verse that encourages you in your mothering and why

I'd also love for you to send pictures of you and your children, or of you and your mom for me to consider publishing with your submission. Please include your name and, if applicable, number of children and ages of your children.

All submissions must be received by Monday, May 15, 2006. A winner will be randomly chosen on Tuesday, May 16th, 2006. Please email your submissions to biblicalwomanhood AT sbcglobal.net.

Feel free to post this on your blog and spread the word on this contest. The more entries, the better!

I just wanted to say how blessed I am. I am getting ready to be a 4th time mom. We have 3 lovely daughters that the Lord has blessed us with and a waiting paitently to see what our newest edition will be. I am also blessed to have my mother still with me as well as a grandmother. I had many mother figures in my life growing up and I realize how vital to my Christian raising now that that was then and I praise God for it.

My husband and I want to give all of the praise to God for this blessing he has given us that we have prayed for, for quite sometime. We plan on naming a daughter Iris which means rainbow in Hebrew and this was a symbol of a promise God gave in the Old Testement. As well, if we have a boy, his name will be Seth, which is part of the Greek word meaning promise in the New Testement. We want to do this to give all the glory back to God over the fact that we prayed for a new child and He promised and now we have the results of his promise and pray that our child is reminded of that each day of it's life.

May you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

I came upon this site by searching for a mother's day contest to enter my mama in.I am a grandma raising 3 of my grandchildren, ages 6,12, and 16.I am being their mama, instead of their grandma.God has blessed me in so many ways but I have to say this is both a blessing and a sad emotion.I also have 3 other grands by the same mama that I get at least one week per month to give the other grandma a break.I can not tell you the emotions involved when you have to become your grandchilds mama.My oldest,16 said that she not only lost her mama, she lost her grandma because I cant be grandma,I have to correct her, punish her,be strict when needed and finially,it has taken all our life savings and we now live from paycheck to paycheck again. However,at the end of the day when I drag my tired self to sleep and look in the mirror,I know I have done the right thing,to give them love and security, raise them in a christian home feel their hugs.I may never see them raise their children but I pray they will always remember that papa and grandma really loved them.
