No more burritos

I'm usually pretty quiet on this blog on issues like immigration and such as I'd rather keep those subjects for lively conversations around our dinner table, but Jesse and I saw this picture yesterday and got a good laugh over it. Then, when C.S. Hayden posted it (We're glad to know he is still alive and well -- we had some doubts for awhile when his blog was dreadfully silent. :)), I just had to direct you over there for the chuckle of the day.

And yes, if you want to throw rotten tomatoes on this issue, you'll have to direct them elsewhere. I'm not in the mood for a debate on why we need to secure our borders or whether or not illegal aliens should really be treated like illegals. But, you can run over and check out some of Carmen's commentary on this if you'd like. She's much more well-versed in this, anyway.

I'd rather talk about menu-planning, frugal living, coupon shopping, my early mother's day present, and a myriad of other posts which are formulating in my head. Call me a lame brain (which is just what a number of deleted anonymous posts accuse me of on a regular basis), but I sure enjoy being a wife and mom and think that, regardless of what anonymous accusers want to say, my profession takes a whole lot of brain cells. Of course, if you have been brainwashed by the modern feministic movement and have decided to bunk the whole husband and babies old-fashioned notion for a "much more powerful job" you wouldn't know, would you?

I for one.....need a burritoe, so with that said, I am ordering a Mexican cook book ASAP.

Oh, and yes, "lame brain", I appreciate your lack of "issues" taken on this blog. I come here for refreshment, ideas, and good old laughs. I think with the lack of "issues" YOU are the one WITH the brain cells fully functioning. I get enough "issue" information just walking across the street!

Your "lame brain" sister in Christ, C.A. Worcester

P.S. I find that when having less brain cells functioning I sleep better. Any one else??? hee hee.

Crystal~I found that to be an ammusing post...burritos! My hubby loves them...what would he do ;-)
As for being a mother and wife AND loving it, well I second that feeling. The funny thing is, here in Calif. the last couple of days they've been putting a "what SAHM's could make if they got a salary" story up on our local news. But, I'd do it for free any day! Personally, I think these "news" stories just show a selfish attitude in our society. Who would pay us anyhow? Our hubby's?
Although, I know I've said it before...thank you again for this great blog to come to. It continues to be a blessing.

Blessings,
Sommer

Good post Crystal!

I agree wholeheartedly. God wants women to be empowered and educated, but at the same time designed us to be different, and created for a unique, God-ordained purpose. It is hard to believe that women sticking their kids in daycare, stuffing processed food(burritos?)down their throats, and never being around to teach them their ABC's would fulfill such a purpose. Not to mention leaving their spouses with a can opener and Chef Boyardee all nights of the week. If the "I am the same as a man" thinkers don't like this blog, they don't have to read it or post here.

Hehe, I was actually eating a burrito as I read this :) (a rare occasion, btw, which makes this even more amusing)

Burritoes have always been a main staple in our family! We were shocked when we met a family once that had no idea what one was!

We've had some lively discussions over dinner about the issue too. It's really close to home down here, so close the border.
