For those who asked

For those who asked, tomorrow and Wednesday Jesse will be taking the bar. Thanks for your prayers on our behalf. We have felt them and continue to feel them. I can't believe that after eight years of planning, studying, and preparing for this, Jesse is almost to the finish line!

I'll probably be around less for the next few days as most of my extra time is going to be devoted to praying for and building up my husband. I have a few posts almost done which I'll post over the next few days, Lord-willing.

We'll be pulling for him! Don't worry if he feels less than confident after he finishes the exam. Most everyone feels that way.

Hi Crystal. My name is Leigh, I am an occasional contributer to Young Mothers and Wives (Sarah Reese is my sister in law). My husband is also taking the bar Mon, Tues and Wed this week. I'll be praying for both of you. How exciting that all of this is finally completed. I know you are so proud. Congratulations!

Thank you, all!

Leigh (#2):Wow! A three day bar - what state are you in? I know a few states do three days - California being one 0 and I've heard those are so much more more difficult! Two days seems plenty long enough for me. I'll be praying for your husband as well.

I just took my husband out for a few hours to get some fresh air and get his mind relaxed. I'm trying to help him stay calm and not lose focus. He is so ready to have this behind him.

Crystal, you and your husband are such an encouragement to all who read your words. Of course I will be praying for Jesse to do well on his exams, but I will also be praying for your whole family as this new exciting chapter in your lives begin!

What a relief Wednesday evening will be to you both. It will be such a wonderful feeling!

I really hope you can enjoy some quality family time together, now that the studying is over. It is wonderful that Jesse was able to complete this part of his life while Kathrynne is still so young.

You have all been in my prayers and will be tomorrow & Wednesday.
(I even prayed that Jesse doesn't get stuck taking the test in a child-sized desk next to a - how should I say this delicately? - extremely large person who is encroaching on his space. I prayed for this out of experience, as that is what happened to me four July's ago).

MEGMARC! We got a blue envelope in the mail this afternoon with your handwriting and I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing the contents were. It meant so much that a family who doesn't even know us would go to such great lengths to bless our little family. I had my husband read the card and he gave me the funniest face when he got to the "fee simple and promissory estoppel" part. I knew it would make him scratch his head that one of my friends would use that sort of language off-hand! :)

I think a Bloomin' Onion just might be in order for us Wednesday night. :)

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts until a better, hand-written thank you note arrives in your mailbox. :)

That is quite funny (okay, maybe not funny!) about your experience. It's good others are praying because I overlooked praying for that! :)

Crystal, I prayed today for Jesse, asking - among other things - that he be blessed with the calming presence of the Lord, a clear head to process test questions, and a sharp memory to recall the correct answers. :-)

I also prayed for you - that the Lord give you emotional and physical strength, so that you can manage your house and little angel without being distracted by worries during the bar, and so your husband can look to you for much-needed support tonight!

God's grace is infinite to those who ask for it, and a LOT of us are out there asking for grace for your family. As I once heard it said, "No matter what happens, God is still God. We have nothing to be afraid of."

Excellent! I'm sure he'll do very well. Praying for all three of you. How long before you get the results?

This is Leigh (#2). We are in Alabama. Thanks for your prayers. Hope all goes well for both of
you.
We are about 2 1/2 hours away from Montgomery where he has to take the bar, so he is staying in a cheap hotel and calling me every night.
Does your husband have a job lined up after graduation? Where will you be living?

Oh, Leigh! I can't imagine being separated from your husband at this time. I hope he is holding up.

Yes, Jesse has a job - actually with the firm he is currently working for, provided he passes, of course. If he doesn't he can continue in his current position, though. It's a very good starting position and really close to his "dream job" at least as far as starting positions go. :) Our only hesitation in accepting it was that we really don't feel like God is calling us to settle down in this town long-term. We'll see what the future holds.

Does your husband have job possibilities on the horizon?

Crystal,
Yes, it is hard. He will be done today, and on his way home in a few hours. Yippee! I'm so glad to have all of this over and done with.
About your decision to take the job - one wonderful things about the law is that you are not necessarily tied to one job for the rest of your career. So many options are open to you in the legal arena as well as buisness and politics. You will both be in my prayers as you make these decisions. The Lord knows where you should be.
Thankfully,David does have a job. We will be moving to Northern Virginia next month and he will be working for the Justice Department. We are very excited since my family lives just 2 1/2 hours away as opposed to the current 13 hours!
Hope everything goes well for both of you.
