A prayer request

Many of you know Gretchen (Glaser) Acheson from Young Ladies Christian Fellowship. She was very recently married and yesterday her husband, Merritt, was in a severe accident.
From YLCF:
This morning Merritt was in an accident when a gasoline tank exploded. He was life-flighted to Spokane and is going into surgery now. His leg is broken in several places but it is looking like they will be able to save it--at first they weren't sure.

Please pray for strength for Gretchen....and for the doctors to have skillfull hands as they seek to minister to Merritt's injuries.
More information and an update here.

I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult this situation must be and I know that Gretchen has done so much for so many girls through the years, now is the time for us to minister to her through upholding her and all involved in prayer. Some specific prayer requests are posted here.

I was so shocked to read this. I love Gretchen's writings and have enjoyed watching her go through courtship, engagement and her wedding. This is so sad. I will be praying fo those Drs right now.

You never know what will happen to your loved ones. Every moment God gives them to you should be precious. I am going to hold my babies close today and give extra attention to my husband.

I almost fell out of my chair lst night when I went to see what was up at YLCF. I got married a week after Gretchen, and all I could do was sit and hug my husband and cry. His response was "This is why I worry about you sometimes...you never know when God wants you home...".

I wish I knew where they went to church...perhaps they could set up a fund to help them out...We have health insurance, and to think that we gripe about the deductible.

Gretchen and Merritt will be in my prayers. I don't know them, but I know how terrifying this must be. May God's healing hands be upon Merritt and His comforting arms around Gretchen.

Blessings,
Sommer

Crystal,

Just a note to say how much I enjoy your blog. I have three boys and live in Kentucky. My husband is a teacher of both high school and college.

I also enjoy your links and happened upon Nichola's page last night. I was caught up in her story because I have a friend who has a very similiar story. She has been fighting lymphoma for 5 years. However, I noticed that Nichola's blog ended just prior to her re-evaluation for disease. Do you have any information about her outcome? I am certainly praying for God's best for her and her family.

Thanks for your encouraging insight and information.
Amy
