Cookie, please
Kathrynne came up behind me last night and started lovingly rubbing my shoulders. I was thinking what a dear precious daughter I have when she comes around in front of me and says, "Cookie?"
What I can never seem to figure out is how children learn exactly how to "butter up" parents all on their own?!
Oh, she melts our hearts and gives us unending reasons for laughter in our home!

George puts on a pleading look and says "peeze, choc-it?" or "peeze cheeze?" It is very cute and hard to say "no" to.
yes but did she get her cookie??
Celina
My littlest sister, age 3, did that to me yesterday. I was kneeling on the floor to reach a few things under my bed when she came up to me, put her arm around my shoulder and peered into my face.
"You want to have cake tonight?" she asked. I laughed. She was right about dessert, though - yesterday was her birthday!
Too Cute!
I can remember lying on the couch with a migraine and our three year-old daughter patting me and saying, "That's O.K. Momma. You just need a chip." Or, if I was having a bad day, "Do you want some tea?"
Awww.....she's a smart little munchkin, thats for sure!!
Hey Crystal, do you think you could do a blog on when you and Jesse decided to start trying to have kids, as well as when you readers decided/realized it was time to have their first?
My husband and I are trying to figure that out, and well, we're confused and pressured and well...CONFUSED! ;) Help!
Andrea: I've written on this some in the past, but it's probably a bit different than what you are looking for. We've always used the most natural of natural family planning namely, we just put it all in God's hands and left it all up to Him. :) We figured that He knows better than us when we were ready for our first and when we are ready for the next.
Before my husband and I were married, this is something we really purposed we wanted to trust God in and you know what, it's been really freeing for us and a wonderful thing for our marriage. We felt that if we weren't ready for children, we weren't ready to get married. It was a big step to take, especially since Jesse had three years of law school ahead of him. But God has blessed this step enormously. God's timing of Kathrynne's birth was perfect and the addition of her life to our family has been the best thing we ever did. In fact, Jesse did so much better in school after we had her, than before we had her. And God has provided for us so abundantly as well.
My encouragement to you would be that you search the Scriptures and spend much time in prayer over this. It is imperative that a husband and wife are united in what they do, not divided.
From personal experience, my husband and I would both say that having a child and entrusting this area to the Lord and not to our own planning has been the best thing we've done for our marriage.
So...did she get the cookie? I must say that I prefer her sweet method of asking to that of a common alternative: whining.
I would also like to encourage Andrea to leave family planning up to God. My husband and I knew that we both wanted a lot of children.(When single,I always dreamed of having twelve children but thought I'd never find a man who would want this many. Then I started hearing about this guy who wanted fourteen...my future husband!) As it turns out, we now have four wonderful children and most likely will not be able to have anymore. We are very content with four and always marvel at God's perfect timing for each one as we look back at our/their lives. We certainly couldn't have planned it better although at time(s) we thought we could :-)
