They did it first

All you mothers and mothers-to-be (especially those experiencing morning sickness) will be encouraged by this post on GirlTalk. I was just going to post a snippet, but I couldn't figure out what to cut and paste, so go read the entire post yourself.

Moms, you never know who's watching your endurance and resilience. I can't tell you how many times I've been encouraged to keep on, keeping on when I was feeling weary by thinking of the wonderful examples of my mom and others moms I know - some of you! Your quiet patience, endurance, giving, loving, and serving is making an impact on us who are coming after you!

It is amazong what human can endure. We are so spoiled now.

My grandmother walked 5 miles to the hospital when she was in labor because my grandfather was at work and she didn't have a phone. She said she would stop when her contractions came and then start after they left. No warm tub, whale music or doula for her. (This was in the mid 30s.)I can't imagine laboring by yourself on a highway.

Great post Crystal. I really needed this!

I just finished my 1st trimester and only had 2 wks. of morning sickness throughout this pregnancy & my first pregnancy. But, my fatigue & general moodiness has been dragging me down. In fact, I just got finished apologizing to my husband for the pile of his shirts that need to be ironed & the bathrooms that haven't been cleaned in 2 weeks.

I have been saving all of my energy to entertain my 14 month old (and not very well lately, at that!) and haven't been keeping up w/my responsibilities. I've also been letting my pregnancy affect my mood which is not fair to my family and makes me feel guilty.

It is time I started realizing how easy I have it! I needed this kick in the pants! Thanks.
