I feel so loved!
Thank you so much for the many kind notes and emails, encouraging verses, and, most of all, for taking the time to comment here for my birthday. It really meant a lot to me. I wish I could respond to each and everyone (I did write up responses to many of them in my head!) but I guess I'm just going to have to settle for a corporate thank you.
Jesse had planned to take Kathrynne and I with him on a business trip for my birthday, but the trip was cancelled at the very last minute. We, instead, spent a quiet weekend as a family. Jesse took me garage saling all Saturday morning (we got an almost complete wardrobe for Kathrynne of nice new clothes for Fall and Winter for about $8! I love garage sales!!) and we enjoyed some leisurely time to talk and just delight in being a family. Who says we have to go on a business trip to have fun, anyway?!
In usual fashion, Jesse also made sure I ate enough chocolate to last me for at least a few weeks - he "made me" eat the chocolate cheesecake and bunny tracks icecream he bought me for my birthday in addition to the chocolate I got from my sister and his parents. I almost had had enough chocolate for one day, though I guess it didn't last too long since I just ate a few chocolate chip waffles! I think I should go eat some carrots or something to help counteract all that chocolate! It's a good thing birthdays are only once a year.

I'm happy you enjoyed your birthday together as a family, whether garage saling or on a business trip. I didn't get a chance to comment on the earlier post. I'm not sure how I found your blog, or even when. I just remember reading your courting story out loud to my beloved and he told me I should print it up to put in our daughter's binders (I want to make them a future household binder for when they hit those adolescent/puberty years. I want to add recipes that they know how to make, uplifting articles, etc. We enjoyed your story very much. And then this last week I told my beloved, "do you remember the young woman from the nice courting story?" He said "yes" Then of course I went on and on about how you save money with coupons. I shared your Walgreens(I think) story with the Kotex and the hair dye, but how you don't dye your hair, etc. lol He looked at me kind of baffled(I think the hair dye part through him off) and then he said, sounds good, we should go for it. lol So there goes your birthday comment from me!! ;0)
I'm so glad you had such a nice birthday! How could you not with all that heavenly, mouth-watering chocolate! =)
And to top it all off, you found some great buys on your yard sale adventure! I happened to go yard saling on Saturday as well...the result? A practically brand new spring-form pan for 25cents...a really cute Nine West designer purse for 2$ and a matching wallet for 50cents! We both had very good fortune I would say!
Too bad you live in Kansas and I live all the way in Pennsylvania.....we'd make a pretty dynamic duo! =) Have a wonderful day!
