An encouragement to this weary mommy

In the midst of a lot of things to really trust the Lord about right now, God has provided us with so many patches of beautiful sunshine and blessing. One of those has been in our precious daughter. I can't tell you what a joy and a delight she is to her mommy and daddy.

Kathrynne has been doing extremely well in potty-training recently, in spite of my not feeling well and not working with her as much. Yesterday she went all day without any accidents - to church, to a youth symphony concert that her aunt played in, to both grandparents' homes. I have no idea if the trend will continue, but it was most certainly an encouragement to this weary mommy.

I am so excited about soon having two little precious ones running around my feet and playing together and tugging at my skirt. Just anticipating it makes all this all-day sickness and tiredness worth it!

God is good.

Congratulations! She´s doing so well! Just a question, how have you gone about potty training her? I have a little boy who has just turned two. He sits on the potty and wees beautifully every time I change his diaper, but he´s not at the point where he will tell me he needs to go before he does. Should I "step it up" a bit, and if so, how? It´s a bit cold to leave him without pants on at this time of year. I´m not worried about it because he is still young, and is doing well and is comfortable with the potty. Just wondered what your opinion is about a next step, if one needs to be taken. Thanks.

Wow! That's awesome! I've still had one in diapers when my 2nd and 3rd were born. My 1st was fairly easy, but my 2nd just finished day training and he was 3 last month!

Anonymous- Try a pair of babylegs and a long shirt. My DD1 I trained in just a dress and DS finally trained when I put him in underwear.

DD1 took a couple months to train and she was around 2. DS took 2 weeks once he finally decided train. I guess that's the pay off, older when finished, but not as long finishing.

You are doing a wonderful job, Crystal! Congratulations to you and to Kathrynne! She'll be a pro before you know it!!

I'll continue to pray for your sickness to subside. Oh, those are such hard weeks!! My sickness always started getting better around 9 weeks! So, you're almost there!!

and it is SO worth it. i have four under ages 4-9. i was pregnant and/or breast feeding for so many years that i had to get used to not being pregnant or breast feeding. in other words, they were all born close together. but now as i enjoy them without having to function while being at the mercy of my hormones and body changes, i tend to forget the details of how HARD it was to be pregnant and/or nursing with 1, 2 or 3 little ones all needing something. i'd do it all again the same way even though i didn't plan to have 4 little ones one right afte the other. i can relax now - A LITTLE. (as relaxed as you can get making sure the 4 year old didn't put the 9 year old's eye out when he threw the toy while refereeing the fight between the 6 and 7 year old. (smile)
