Jamestown 400 mystery
My siblings and I have been *trying* to figure out the Jamestown 400 Hunt from the Vision Forum catalog, but we're completely stumped. Could you ask your blog readers if they have any hints/tips? ;) Have any of them successfully completed it yet, and is it even possible?! LOL. I remember there was a fun discussion on last year's treasure hunt, and I'd love to see some active fun again. (although maybe everyone already finished it -- the catalog came quite a while ago.) Thanks! -KatieSadly, my husband and I haven't had much of a chance at all to try our hand at this. From what I've heard, it's much harder this year than last. Has anyone solved the mystery?

I am glad to know I am not the only one struggling with the treasure hunt. It is really challenging. However, I am hopeful that I will at least figure out some of it.
We are having a hard time with it too. In fact, every Wednesday night after our prayer meeting, the men and boys sit around the table pouring over their catalogs, discussing, working on ideas, and trying their best to get a foothold on the mystery! It's so funny! The grown men are stumped!!

Does anyone have a tip for where we can find the "secret website"? It's only the very beginning of the hunt, and we're stumped ;-D
I'm leaving to dh...he is SO good at things like this...not me. I get to frustrated!
Once things get moving...I'm sure it will become a family 'affair' but I'm letting dh lead...if he wants to...if not we'll probably just let it go.

Glad to hear we're not the only ones who are stumped! :-D We've found and deciphered about 5 different clues in the catalog, but still have not located the website. I keep saying, "You know, there *is* that tip book..." and my husband says, "We don't need that! We can find it ourselves!" :-D After looking through the catalog about, oh, one zillion times, I had to stop for a little while. I might even have it memorized... ;-)
I happened to check this blog because I remembered a discusion about the Vision Forum hunt last year. A group of us had been discussing the Jamestown 400 on another blog and we decided to start a Yahoo group to share hints (but not give answers). Everyone is welcome to join! The group is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jt400(thats 400 at the end in case it gets cut off) Last night one of the members posted that she has found the secret website.

A bit of trivia...in the movie 2001 Space Odyssey, the computer HAL was named after a VERY POPULAR computer manufacturer at the time, that is/was known for their THREE initials. HAL was _ _ _ once removed!
The same holds true on the code on pg 87 of the 2007 catalogue.
