Making music

I just had to share this darling picture of Kathrynne "playing" her new violin. She enjoyed "performing" a few times for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to many years of beautiful music in our home thanks to her - though it might be a few years before we make it to the "beautiful music" level!

I love the serious look on her face! That's such an adorable picture Crystal (and I'm sure with a little encouragement from you and Jesse she'll be a virtuoso in no time).

She's a child prodigy! =) I wish I had started violin when I was that young. Really cute!

so cute! It's fun to see another mother who used to teach music lessons plan on teaching her own children. I hope to do the same ( I can teach piano, my husband could teach piano, or guitar). It will save alot of money as well!

Oh my goodness, that is so cute! I used to play violin.....I miss it. What size is Kathrynne's? 1/4 size? What a sweetheart.

By the way, I failed to mention that Kathrynne's violin is a 1/32. :) It's actually still a little too big for her, but that's the smallest size you can get where a violin will actually work. We bought it for $29 off of eBay so that she could have something to start learning with. It's amazing how much she has already picked up just in short little segments of teaching and "messing" with it!

Oh, I wish we had the money to buy a whole bunch of musical instruments for our children to start on! At the very least, a piano!! I feel that they are somewhat deprived right now, limited only to an old recorder and a drum!

Good for you!! Learning to play an instrument is a big undertaking and requires a lot of commitment! :D I didn't realise childrens' violins were so affordable! Thanks for posting the photo! :)
