Yesterday's excitement
Guess what we did yesterday? Yes, that's right. We saw the president. (Sorry, my zoom is a bit fuzzy on my camera.) Here's a better picture:
Photo by Jason Hunter, The Capital-JournalThough we most certainly do not agree with all of President Bush's policies, we respect him, we respect the office God has placed him in, and we appreciate his willingness to come to Kansas at the last minute in support of some really excellent conservative candidates and Congressmen. We were especially excited to bring our daughter to see the President of the United States. It's not everyday you get to do that. The last time we were privileged to see him in person, she was in utero. Although she didn't have much of an idea of what was going on or why we were so excited to keep pointing to him and telling her he was the President, she cheered and clapped right along with the rest of us!
There were around 10,000 very enthusiastic conservatives in the audience. And the feeling was electric. Just what we needed a few days before a tight election.
By the way, have you voted? I most certainly hope that you have advanced voted already or have cleared out a block of time in your schedule tomorrow to vote. We're going to have a special post just dedicated to that tomorrow. Stay tuned.

How exciting! No, I haven't voted because silly me, forgot to register to vote when I had a chance.
Yes, everyone of voting age has already advanced voted in our family. It feels good to have completed that before Tuesday. :)
I had never been to a political rally that invigorating before. They sure didn't need the cheerleaders. :)
It sure was fun to catch up on things after the the rally over pizza. It was a delight to see sweet, little Kathrynne again. She is going to be a great helper for you all!
Have a blessed week!

I was there too! I didn't advance vote but I'm going tomorrow. I like to take my children with me so they can see their parents exercising their right to vote!
Wow, how exciting. With your political involvement and Jesse having a law degree, I'm wondering, does he have any political aspirations?
Oh, that would be so exciting!
I'm definitely going to be voting tomorrow, as in Virginia there is a marriage amendment on the ballot, in addition to the normal Senate and House elections. My mom is an election worker, and she has to be at the polls bright and early tomorrow morning!
I also got to see the President. He came to the Charleston Airforce base in SC. My husband is in Iraq but my mom and I took the kids. It was very exciting. The President does truely support the troops. My 6 yr old was very excited to see him. I will be voting tomorrow. I like to take the kids with me also. Christy
We got to see the President when he was campaigning for his second term. Air Force One flew right over the football stadium. I was so excited. We took our then four year old foster daughter. When she sees the President on TV now (she is 6) she always points and says, "We saw him!" We sat in the section right above the first lady and Governor Jeb Bush.
