Input requested: Purity ring

A friend of mine is wanting to find a purity ring to give to her 16 year old dd on her birthday. I've been searching online but haven't come up with anything yet. Do you know where she could find something like this? Thanks for any help. -Joanna
Anyone have any suggestions?

When I was 16, my parents bought me a lovely ring with a cross on it as a purity ring. Since I have very sensitive skin, they got it from Simply Whispers, a company with lovely hypoallergenic jewelry. However, they don't have a large selection of rings, but perhaps you would be able to find one or two that you like. Later, when the ring accidentally got bent to disuse, we got another simple ring at Zales.

Isn't there some sort of orgainzation/ministry called Love Waits? Maybe they would have something?

The young adults we know at church and in our own family have all bought thiers at James Avery.

My sister and I both chose to wear rings call "Poesy Rings" for our purity rings, because we loved what they said inside or outside on the ring. The best place to buy them I have found is DVB NY (http://www.dvbny.com/05_collections/love.htm), and click on "rings."

The one I wore said "Faithless to none, yet faithful to one" in old English, and my sister wore one that said "yours only."

It was a big surprise too when my fiancee (now husband) chose to get me a poesy ring for my wedding band, and I really do love the significance of these! My band now says "Semper amemus," which means "our love is forever" in Latin.

These are unusual but that's why my sister and I chose them. The sayings on them really make people think when they have asked about them over the years!

It wouldn't necessarily have to be a "purity ring." Just like wedding rings are all different, why not just pick a funtional ring that she would like and wouldn't take a lot of care?

My parents got me a simple white gold band at the jewelry counter at Wal-Mart for my purity ring. I wanted one that looked like a wedding band.

My sister and I wear chastity rings (mine is a gold band with a cross at the center, hers is a larger gold band with her initials engraved on the front) that our father purchased from the Texan Christian jewelry maker James Avery: http://secure.jamesavery.com/index.jsp. The Avery designs are simple and beautiful, and it is easy to find Christian themes through this company.

Usually your local Christian bookstore has a selection of purity rings in stock, if not, they can usually be special ordered.

There is this website here with silver rings. http://www.c28.com/shopping/productlistings3.asp?searchin=&letter=&type=&category1=jewelry&category3=rings&category2=&criteria=&countertxt=24&numberitems=
This is the last page of 4, so that the ring "true love waits" is showing. There are others.

www.christianbook.com carries the love waits rings and they also have a very nice purity bracelet.

We actually just went to the jewelry store and selected beautiful gemstone rings with each of our girls. They are often asked about them, simply because they wear them on the left hand, and pleased to be able to explain.

Why should a ring symbolizing commitment to purity for the Lord's sake be any less beautiful than an engagement ring?
