What we're really about
This post from Jennie Chancey is very well worth your time. Whether you embrace biblical womanhood, aren't sure what it all entails and are trying to sort it out, or think the whole concept is whacko, you should read it.As Erin says:
This is the most excellent explanation I've ever read concerning what the purpose of our blogs as Christian women should be. Written by Mrs. Chancey about her site Ladies Against Feminism (which I recommend), it wonderfully lays out "the background" behind a biblical view of womanhood (including scripture references), allays common misconceptions about that biblical view, and (though perhaps indirectly) provides encouragement to other bloggers and writers as to how to view our mission as witnesses of Christ both online and offline.
As many Christian women have experienced, it can become wearying to be constantly mischaracterized in our beliefs. Thank you, Mrs. Chancey, for giving such an honest and substantive glimpse of what we're really (or should be) all about!

Crystal~I read that post on LAF a couple of days ago and was really impressed with it. I think it was a great summary of what we as women that wish to live our lives on a biblical model think and why we do what we do.
Thanks for bringing to more people!

this is great... It clarified things for me to and put it all into better perspective... I have thought these same things, but couldnt have put it in words like this! thanks for sharing it with us... God will not love us anymore for what we do and that is hard to remember sometimes for me...
This is why it's so good to see sites like yours and LAF.
I used to be such a die-hard feminist that I once actually thought that women who took their husband's last name must have an emotional problem. Then when I came across Biblical Womanhood and had it all explained to me by a nice, normal, non-judgemental person, I realized how far off base I really was. That's saying a lot b/c usually I'm not one to change my opinion.
Now that I've totally changed my lifestyle, I am so much happier, not to mention my family, esp. my husband. I'm also a better nurse and friend and so much less stressed.
Keep up the good work. Now my daughters are fans, too!
I love LAF. I owe finding this site to their links page. ^_^
As a Christian feminist, I found this post to be the most fair and non-judgmental one out of all of the anti-feminist posts I have ever read. I loved it. I choose not to post comments on anti-feminist blogs anymore (at least not much) because I can't seem to convey my position well. All I can say is that there is no feminist "rule book." I wear makeup and I want children. I do not believe that I am superior to men (I believe we are equals), nor do I support abortion or gay marriage. Alas, there are many different brands of feminism and I happen to believe in a version that enhances my faith in Jesus. I pray that one day Christians and feminists will be able to talk openly with each other and see that we indeed have much in common. I am glad that LAF welcomes feminist discussion.
