Don't even think of calling me "superwoman"

I made these cookies last night, using butter instead of shortening this time, and I think they turned out better than with the shortening. Plus, they are better for you, too. So, I guess I'm switching the recipe to butter from now on. Thanks for the suggestions awhile back on switching to that.

By the way, lest anyone get visions of my being a superwoman after my anti-procrastination post, I wanted you all to know that after baking the cookies, I was too tired to make anything else so we had a clean-out-the-fridge night for dinner and I promptly went to bed. The apple crisp, southwest chicken roll-ups, and bread I was supposed to make yesterday afternoon were moved to the agenda for today. I'll post pictures and recipes of the apple crisp and bread if it turns out well. (Speaking of which, do you enjoy it when I post food stuff - recipes, pictures, etc.? I have no intentions of this becoming a recipe blog - Tammy has that covered better than I ever could - but I do cook and bake a lot and was just wondering if you would enjoy more pictures and recipes?)

And can you see why I am enjoying cooking so much? This is my old kitchen:

I feel so spoiled to have so many cupboards and countertops and floor space and a window over the sink in our new kitchen that I almost think I could stay in there baking all day most days! It just begs to be used. And I'm hoping to soon have it decorated so that it's even more inviting.

Wow. What a difference! I am so happy that you have a bigger kitchen. They are so much easier to work in.

Um, you might want to pick up that purple napkin on the floor, though. :-)

Zan, leave it to you to notice the one out-of-place thing. :) :)

that was actually Kathrynne's glove. We'd just walked in from outside and she'd dropped her glove right before I snapped the picture. I didn't pick it up because who doesn't have something on their kitchen floor most of the time?? :)

Crystal~What a blessing to move up to such a nice sized kitchen! I have a lot of cupboard space, but hardly any counter space and only one plug spot...not easy if you have several appliances :-/
I love posts about recipes and such. It is always fun to see what others are making in their kitchen!

Blessings,
Sommer

I used to dread all cooking! Then we spent the summer having our kitchen remodeled and expaned. Now, I'm a cooking and baking fiend (the numbers on the scale attest to that)! It's amazing how an orgainized, well-laid-out kitchen can inspire and energize! Not to mention a nice view out a window!

What a Blessing! I too love to bake & cook, however with 7 people total now in the house and a small kitchen it can become tricky! I LOVE when you post Recipes and Pictures ( Pictures in general!) of the Healthly Goddies you're making keep it up!

Even better than butter is coconut oil! :-) We use it for all our cooking and baking these days. Go here:

Congratulations on all the stuff you have accomplished over the last few days!

What a blessing your new kitchen is!I can identify going from tiny to large myself. Our old kitchen had 2 tiny work surfaces & only half the sink space& since I bake it was a very frustrating set up. The only nice thing about our old kitchen, was watching the family of kangaroos, that would feed in the forestry over the back fence.
Now I'm rejoicing too with more cupboard space & efficient design. My new kitchen dates from the early 1970's,so it's has a nice sunny retro appeal.
