Frugal Friday: Dairy-free coupons and Paper Back Swap
I'm sort of "running on empty" tonight, so I'm turning to my handy email inbox to share two tips sent in to me recently by readers:Coupons for Dairy-Free Products
Just a quick link to a coupon deal specifically for dairy-free products at www.godairyfree.org
When you order their latest publication you get free shipping within the U.S. and coupons for a range of specialty products.

Paper Back Swap
I just wanted to pass along an exciting frugal find that my sister-in-law told me about a handful of weeks ago called www.PaperBackSwap.com. I'm an avid reader, and as a "just starting out" homeschool mom I'm always on the lookout for great books to add to our home library. But, our budget just doesn't allow for me the luxury to buy new books. So, I was thrilled to find out about paperbackswap! Basically, you get started by posting at least 9 books on their site - books that you'd like to offer to other members of the site. They can be paperback, hardback, or even audio books - but they have to be in good condition. When you post those 9 books, you get 3 points that you can use to spend on any of their 920,000+ books (one point = one book). When another member requests one of your titles, you ship out their book via media mail (about $1.59-2.09/book). Then when they receive your book, you get another point added to your account.
I've only been a member for 3 weeks, and already I've received 9 books from the swap with another 15 points on my account to spend. Plus I have close to 200 titles on my wish list - putting me in a queue for book titles I'm willing to wait for. I've been able to find homeschool books, biblical parenting books, bibles, cookbooks, theology books etc. Books that I haven't been able to get through the library, I've been able find here - just for the cost of postage when I mail out my books. I love it.

Note from Crystal: Just for fun, I signed up for Paper Back Swap this morning. It was very easy to do and took hardly any time to sign up and list my nine books. I also found out they have a referral program, so if you click on the link below and sign up and list your nine books, I'll get a free book credit. Not to be mooching off you all or anything, but I couldn't help but mention it. More free books for both of us! And then you can post the link on your blog and keep the free books rolling...

By the way, as to be expected, there are most definitely some objectionable books at Paper Back Swap. Use discernment, as always.

Hi, Crystal,
This was my first time to participate in Frugal Fridays and I hope I did it right.:) I'm technology challenged and couldn't figure out how to link to my FF post so the link just goes to my blog.Hope that's okay...I will figure out how to link to a specific post before next Friday.:)
I like the idea of the paper back swap (I learned about it last week); I just haven't had a chance to get over there and get it started. Thanks for the reminder.
There is a great group online at www.freecycle.org. You can post a need for something or post something you have but don't need anymore. Everything must be free (hence the name) and I have used it several times. There are freecyle groups in hundreds of areas. It is very gratifying to be able to help someone with a need and a great way to fill a need without always spending, spending, spending.
Tammy and I are contributing together! What a fun idea. :)
I love paperback swap. I joined last December. It is a great way to save money and you get to choose your books.
I read about the book swap on your blog this morning and was getting ready to join and I'm so glad that I checked back because I didn't see your link the first time around. So here's to another book for you :-) I've got some homeschool, simple living, cookbooks to list too. This looks like such fun! Thank you so much for bringing this up in your blog. :-)
