A Valentine's Banquet for single gals
When I saw your post about the contest for the unmarrieds, I started to smile to myself because this is the first year that I have *plans* for Valentine's Day. Let me explain:
At my church, there are several single gals with the age range being from 18-31. It began to bother me around early December that we as girls don't often have a time to pull away from school, work, and family and just relax as friends. I am forever planning parties (I love to organize!!!) and so I came up with the idea to mix two goals into one: get together for a fun night and dress up too! (Some things never change from girlhood).
I decided Valentine's Day would be perfect since none of us (obviously!) had any previous plans/attachments and it would be a great time to get out those formal outfits that we never get to wear (since we don't have dances/proms/formals/etc). So this Saturday evening, I'm hosting a Valentine's Day Banquet at church. We're having a sit-down meal complete with red and white balloons, white lights, pretty candles and soft music playing in the background. Because, after all, Valentine's Day is a day we celebrate love, and we all love a whole lot of people!!! Plus I know (from experience!) that it's easy to get down-in-the-mouth about not having a significant other around. We girls joke about things being ro-tic: romantic with out the man.

Wow - a banquet sounds like fun! However, with our last-minute plans just sliding into place in time our evening will be more like an impromptu gathering of yound ladies to share some snacks and 'hang out' :P Decorations will be some coloured Christmas lights and our banquet will be snack food such as popcorn, pretzels, and sweets.
However, I wanted to put together a little booklet of Valentine's Day reflections for each young lady to take away with her including some reflections or notes on studying Proverbs 31. Can anyone recommend a good study on this part of proverbs that I may be able to include?
