Nesting??

Could I have started nesting already?

In the past few days, I re-joined Flylady, I re-did my home management binder adding/tweaking many new sections, and all I want to do is cook, clean, garden, sew, organize...

Hmmm, I guess I won't complain! I better take advantage of the energy and motivation while it's here!

I can't wait until the nesting energy kicks in for me! But, at only 16 weeks (or is it 17 yet?), I think I have a ways to go. :)

I'm always interested in tweaking my binder(s). Care to share what you've added or changed?

Hi Crystal! I have been nesting for a few months now. (and I am only almost 23 weeks!) It sure is a wonderful pregnancy blessing! I have been more motivated lately do to cleaning and organizational activities, which I normally would not even consider. That little burst of energy to make the house spic and span is wonderful! The middle of pregnancy is definitely my favorite part!

Oh goodness, I remember nesting. I was working when I was pregnant - not only did I clean out my own office area, I cleaned out everyone else's desks as well. Definately not the way to win friends and influence people!

Crystal,
And you didn't think your time of sickness would pass ;). Maybe it's being in your 2nd trimester and that Spring is on its way. Nonetheless, I am sure you can appreciate being healthy!

I think it's the time of year! Because I'm not pregnant, but last week when it warmed up a little, I got really energized. :) Yay!!

Of course, I tend to do what some people call "nesting" frequently, pregnant or not. I think the first glimmer of Spring sends hope after long dreary weeks. :)

Is a home management binder something you can purchase online? Or is it something you just put together yourself? I have a Christian Family organizer, but that's more for writing down appointments, etc. on a calendar... I find I'm in a "nesting mode" even though I'm not pregnant. Hee. Hee. Spring is here and the "spring cleaning/organizing" feelings have arrived at the Prescott home!

Yes, I agree, maybe it's just the time of year. I was hopeful that maybe it was pregnancy-related and might last for a number of weeks, though. :) We'll see!

Sheri: My home management binder inspiration first came from a few ladies online: Candy at http://www.KeepingtheHome.com was my biggest motivator. However, being more of a routine and loosely-scheduled person, as opposed to following a strict schedule, my binder is not as elaborate or detailed as many others are. It's what works for me. :) It holds our daily routine, every day of the week cleaning schedules, and my weekly plan. (All of these are in clear plastic page protectors so I can use a dry erase marker to check things off as they are done). To answer Laurie's question: I just added sections for exercise, gardening, goals and projects to do, homeschooling goals for Kathrynne, books to read, and a few more things. I'll see if those are helpful or not. Usually I have to try something out for a month or so to know if it works well or not for me.

I also have a separate Day Timer with calendar pages and Daily Pages from Franklin Covey which I use for planning day-to-day activities, projects, my to-do list and daily goals, and business work/reminders. This also houses my address book, my grocery shopping lists, and my weekly menu plan. I want to eventually merge the grocery and menu plans, but I've used this system for so long, it's hard for me to change it. :)

Crystal,

I have been so sick for so long that I am even having a hard time letting go that I am not sick. HEE! HEE! I am almost 24 weeks and I am also feeling the urge to organize, plan, clean. This is a huge change from two weeks ago when I was still getting sick, every smell was gross, and I was hormonally crying ALL THE TIME and still laying on the couch praying for a change. I am trying to take it slow. Plus, I want to do deep cleaning and organizing but I am going to try not redo our schedule even though there not where I would like them, they are working for us. I am scared that when the baby comes it will all dramatically change. So, I just don't want to stress on schedule. I am nervous as all get out about having three children. I have no clue why! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Blessings,
Chrissy T.

We would LOVE to see pictures and examples of your binder and organizational system. I'd love to see what you're doing!

The last time I was pregnant, I was nesting before 3 weeks... so I suspect it is as much psychological as anything.

Yet another reason to want to get pregnant again... I could use some energy...
