A small break from our normal routine...
We've had a very busy past few days, so today, since we didn't have anything planned, no one was coming over, and the house was already cleaned, Kathrynne and I took a small break from our normal routine to do a few fun things.
I pulled out my sewing machine after almost a year of non-use and Kathrynne had a blast "helping" me sew this little Lambkin for her. (Thanks to Bethany for the idea!)
Though mine didn't look quite as nice as the original picture and I think it almost looks more like a dog than a lamb, Kathrynne was thrilled with it.
We also made another delicious recipe from Tammy for lunch: Spinach Rice Casserole.
We are out of milk and I didn't have but half the spinach it called for but I went ahead and made it, just adding in a little extra water to compensate. I also left out the Worcestershire sauce and added in some garlic salt (have you noticed how I tend to add that to almost every recipe?!). Needless to say, it was very good and Kathrynne asked for a second helping!
Now I'm off to try my hand at a new bread recipe using molasses instead of honey.

Mmmm, I LOVE molasses in bread! I made some molasses oat bread in the bread machine last week that was awesome. http://www.redstaryeast.com/r_oatmealwalnut.html
That is cute! :)ubg
Wow, good job on the little lambie!! And here we thought you couldn't sew. If you can make one, then maybe I can, too! :) Homemade stuffed animals are the best. :D Does Kathrynne really really like it? :)
Good job on the casserole! Maybe I could use your photo on my site (if I gave you credit and a link). What say ye? :D
Tammy - Kathrynne has been carrying it around all afternoon. She loves it anytime I make something for her but this was my first try at a stuffed animal. I'm surprised it turned out. Maybe there is hope for me yet in the sewing department.
And yes, of course you can use my photo if you want - though it's not the greatest by any means.
I hope you don't mind, I posted your lamb on my blog! :) I think it is adorable!! Thanks for linking to me. ;)

You're sweet, Bethany! And I love your blog, by the way. Thanks for all the great motivation and wonderful recipes. I'm so glad Tammy L "introduced" me to you!
The lamb is SO adorable! I was trying to come up with a small gift for several of my husband's co-workers that are expecting babies this spring and summer...so now I may try a lamb and if it turns out I will make at least six of them! They would look great made out of printed flannel. I often find small remnants of flannel at Walmart for less than a dollar. Thanks for sharing!
