The toilet paper proposal

I got such a kick out of reading this post by Shannon.

I'm all about being responsible with our environment and think we should be good stewards of the resources God has given us. However, leglislating toilet paper usage seems to be taking the conservationism thing a bit too far. Has this lady ever had a two-year-old before?

I don't know about you, but I think we can come up with a lot of better ways to conserve before we start limiting toilet paper to one square each.

By the way, you just never know what you'll read on this blog, do you? :)

Hmm, very interesting ideas some people have!

I just wanted to comment and thank you for mentioning Shaklee's Basic H cleaner a while ago! I just got mine today, and I am very excited to start using it! I am really looking for some good ways to cut down on the chemicals and things I use in my home, so I was very excited to find out about this! Thanks!

We use cloth toilet paper here. Does that mean I can have more than 1 square in public restrooms?

It seems to me that TP would likely biodegrade nicer than other things. There are lots of other paper products out there that are surely more wasteful. I find the whole thing bizzaar. And, like you said, Crystal, did this woman ever have a 2 year old? I have five children as you know, and we use a LOT of TP and Paper Towelling in this house...less now that they are older, but still...messes happen.

Ms. Crow would have probably had a heart attack if she had been here when my oldest (now 14, then 2) discovered that if you put one end of the TP into the toilet and flush it unravels the whole roll at break neck speed and looks really cool as it all goes down the drain. Thankfully we broke her of that little trick that Uncle Don taught her, but I can't imagine how they could possibly regulate thigns like TP usage...some things are beyond our control, especially when our children are in the still being trained stages.
