Spring cleaning: In the Kitchen

Mrs. Wilt has been challenging us all to join her in her spring cleaning adventures. Since I'm still moving rather slow around here and trying to take it easy - per midwife's and husband's orders - I'm going to join in but at the turtle pace. After all, isn't something better than nothing? :)

So, for my kitchen Spring cleaning, here's what I'm planning to tackle this week:
  • Dust above cupboards
  • Clean window and blinds
  • Wipe down front of cupboards
  • Clean out baking cupboard
  • Deep-clean microwave (inside and out)
  • Deep-clean stove (inside and out)
  • Deep-clean refrigerator (inside and out)
Anyone else want to join me in Spring cleaning your kitchen? Feel free to share a link to your list or your list in the comments section. I'll try to post pictures and a progress report later on in the week.

Speaking of kitchens, don't miss Tammy's Kitchen Tip Tuesday!

Off to tackle some kitchen cleaning and hopefully some baking, too - even if I can only work in 15 minute increments and then lie down to rest for awhile!

Sounds like a good plan! Just be sure to stay away from the oven cleaner, it's a bit overwhelming for the pregnant ladies :)

I will try to do this with you. I wake up every morning with great intentions and then by 10:00 I am so sluggish and tired. Thanks for the nudge.

The 15 minutes thingy really worked for me today!!

1. 15 minutes: polish furniture in the living room
2. 15 minutes: clean, dry and polish the bathroom sink
3. 15 minutes: mop the floors
4. 15 minutes: rest
5. 15 minutes: polish furniture in one of the bedrooms

I love FlyLady!

I did this last month... emptied all my cupboards and my pantry, and cleaned them one by one; I also deep-cleaned the oven and refrigerator and pulled both out to dust and mop the floor behind them, and wiped down the fronts of the cupboards.
It's such a good feeling once it's all done!

I have a 2 1/2 year old and do medical transcription from home while she is napping and after she goes to bed/before she wakes up. Therefore, my cleaning/homekeeping must be done while she is awake. Her attention span is not very long and I don't like to use TV too much to occupy her while I'm working. She will help me for a short while but quickly becomes antsy :) Please share any ideas that have worked for you.

Crystal,
My MIL sent me Tawra's Dining on a Dime cookbook several months ago and I love it. I am interested in purchasing the ebook collection for myself and possibly as a gift to her, but how do I do that? Is there a way to send a link to her letting her know how to download the ebook? How long is the special going on?

Help! As of this morning, my house is covered w/cicadas. I'm too much of a bundle of nerves right now to think of deep-cleaning anything!

I just spring cleaned my kitchen today and didn't know anyone else was doing it! My husband paid a young lady to come and help me get the house ready for a bunch of houseguests this weekend. It was SUCH a productive past couple days...the last time my house was this clean was when my mom was visiting when Katherine was born in October. (When my mom gets bored, she cleans!)

Anonymous,
My sister-in-law had her 2 year old clean beside her. She gave him a spray bottle of water and a sponge or paper towel and he went around the bathroom or kitchen where she was "cleaning" and "helping mommy". She said it really worked for her. Hope this helps.

Oh, I hear the fridge calling...or maybe it's the stuff in the fridge!
