Birth Day Diary: Entry Five

Things are continuing to progress - slowly but surely. My midwife just got here and checked me and I'm somewhere between 3-4 cm. That was encouraging to me.

I just got on the birth ball which was a nice change from the bed. Feeling more and more like this is the real thing - which is good. I'm hopeful this baby will actually be coming today. :)

I am so excited for you, Crystal! How wonderful that you are dilating well. I am also very happy that you are allowed to move around, some. My birth ball is pumped up and ready to be used too!

p.s. I was induced unexpectantly with my last pregnancy....when I was 3-4cm it was only about 4 hours later that my baby was born....I'll pray that will be the same for you!

I'm glad you are venturing out of bed. Moving around will surely speed things along. Once you get to the 5 cm milestone it usually goes quicker. Be strong!

Hey sweetie, great job! SO proud of you, you can and will do this! Get on that ball, get that baby nice and low. I got induced with my last by having them break my water at 4cm and 4 hours later the baby was born with no epidural! You can do this! GOD Bless! Tara

I never post but I love to read your blog. I was with a friend of mine who give birth and she didn't want to get off the birthing ball! Back massages also helped her as well. I will be praying for you.

Sit on that birth ball as much as you can, and even with when connected to a monitor they usually let you walk around. I stood up and swayed through most of my contractions and it really made the baby drop right down in the birth canal. Once I got to the end, pushing was a piece of cake.

Crystal,

It seems like you are having a family reunion, rather than giving birth! :-D But what wonderful memories you will have. Trusting everything continues to go well. Looking forward to hearing who your new arrival is!

Praise the Lord about your platelets!

Blessings,
Theresa
