Cereal and milk deal at Kroger
For those of you with a Kroger nearby, they have a great cereal and milk deal going on for a few more days.
When you buy three boxes of General Mills cereal, you get two to three gallons of milk for free. By using coupons, you can get three boxes of cereal and three gallons of milk for $2-$3 total! I would usually consider that to be a good deal on cereal alone. Throw in the milk for free and it's almost a steal! Plus, you can do it multiple times (up to two times per store transaction). This might be a great opportunity for you to bless some friends with free milk!
Here's how it works: GM cereals are on sale for 3 for $5 and 3 for $6 (depending upon which kind you get - only the ones which are at those prices will work for this deal so make sure and check to get the right ones). Buy three and buy two gallons of milk in your transaction. The
cereal will ring up at the sale price and the store's computer should automatically deduct your milk at the end of the transaction, giving it to you for free. Then, after you pay, the catalina machine will print a coupon for a free gallon of milk (up to $4.50) on your next visit.
There are lots of coupons out there for GM cereals. I used some of the printables available here to get a $1/off each box of cereal (our store doubles $0.55 coupons to $1).
Since we don't use a whole lot of milk, we bought one 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk and one gallon of milk - both came off at the end of the transaction. I've also read that other dairy products (such as creamer) are working as well.
Edit: If the free milk with cereal purchase is not advertised in your sale flier, it very well might not work for your area. I should have said that upfront and my apologies for those who tried and didn't get it to work. Each state/region is a little different, but I do know that this is working in multiple regions, not just our area. Also, make sure that the catalina machine is working when you checkout. Sometimes they are out of paper so the coupons won't print. The reason you can get multiple gallons of milk is because it is both a store deal and a GM deal. Oh, and I'm not sure for other areas, but for our area, this deal ends today.

Tops is having the same or a similar sale in my area.
By the way, I don't know a lot about websites, but is either your computer or the website off on time? I checked the site earlier this morning and there wasn't a new post. I just checked it now at noon my time (I am an hour ahead of you) and it shows 2 posts from Sunday all of a sudden. Maybe you wrote them in advance and had them scheduled? However, in comments and posting times they are always off by about 3 hours. Not that it is a big deal. I just thought I would let you know in case its something that matters to you. :)
Blessings to you and your little ones! I'm praying God will bless you this day. What a joyous day that the Lord has created and in which you can enjoy your lovely family.
My sister-in-law shops at Kroger in Houston, and I'm always so jealous going to the grocery store with her when I visit.
Hi Crystal--
Thanks for posting about the bargains at Kroger!
Trixie
Thank you so much for sharing these deals with us. Unfortunately I don't think there are Krogers stores in Pa. CVS is having great deals on toothpaste, you can easily earn money on this one. Check out my blog for details. Also, Ace hardware is having a sale this Friday and Saturday. They will have 15 different items FREE after rebate!
Does anyone know if this deal works at Fred Meyer (in the Kroger family) as well?
Thanks for the tips about Kroger and the website to print coupons from.
Christine
Thanks for the Kroger tips -- I love them! I got four boxes of cereal for $4. I'm tempted to go back again today and really load up on cereal! The milk didn't work for me, but I was happy enough with the cereal and needed milk anyway. :)
Congrats on the lovely baby. I was praying for the delivery.
I didn't work for me. I bought three of the 3/$5 general mills cereal and two gallons of skim milk and it didn't work. I had to pay for the milk and I didn't get a catalina. I must not be for my area. It was not advertised in the sales paper. Was it in the sales paper for you all? :(
Heather - was the deal advertised in your flier? If so, I'd make sure to ask that they take off the milk. If it's not advertised, it sometimes will work, sometimes it won't. It really just depends. I often just do the transaction once and see what happens.
Every store regions computers are set up differently, so when I post deals, I can't guarantee they are working for every area, though I usually make sure they are working in our area and in multiple other areas (from hearing from other people online).
Anyway, my apologies if deals don't always work in your area. :(
Thank you anyways! We are always excited to hear about good deals! Thank you again! We appreciate you!
In my area, the sale is buy 3 boxes of cereal and get 1 gallon milk free, but the catalina coupons did print and so we got an additional gallon with each special. I went through twice (with 2 specials each time) and when I cashed in my coupons for the free milk, it deducted $4.50 for the milk, which was on sale for $3.50. With those and the manufacturers coupons, I got 6 boxes of cereal and 4 gallons of milk for $5.90!!!! Crystal, where do you find out about the deals and catalina coupons??? Congrats on your sweet little lady!!
Andrea
