Life with a newborn

My current daily schedule:

Sleep in for as long as possible
Nurse
Change diapers
Eat/Drink
Remark at random intervals, "She is so precious!" "She is so beautiful!" "I can't believe she fit inside of me!" and "I can't believe I pushed something that size out of me!"

Repeat last four things in order multiple times until bedtime.

And I wouldn't choose to have any other schedule right now. Everything else can wait. I'm just taking my time enjoying being a brand-new mama again!

I love the newborn phase!!!

Do you guys do (or plan to do) any type of formal scheduling, like Babywise or something similiar? I have heard reviews from the negative and positive side so I was just wondering!

Congratulations on your newest blessing! I miss little babies around they smell so good. My babies are now 16 and 14 and I am (im)patiently waiting for grandchildren. Not that I am rushing them, in God's timing. Clare

Your're so sweet, Crystal! :-D

And...third time around I still said the same sentences. ;-)

Lots of love from Germany,

I love that schedule too! Isn't it incredible that one of the most common events on earth is also one of the most miraculous and amazing events no matter how often it is repeated? Each baby is always the sweetest and the best.

PS-I have a little gift for you. I'll either run it by if I'm out doing errands or put it in the mail. We're leaving for a week in Branson soon, so not sure if I'll get over your direction before that!

Sounds like the perfect schedule for this season of your life. I was thinking of the old poem "Babies Don't Keep" today as I nursed my five month old in the crook of one arm and cuddled my toddler son with the other. I've gotten the basic cleaning done today to make our lives sanitary, but otherwise have been focusing on the children and letting all the small "time stealer" type things fall by the wayside. I'll never get these precious years back again! :-) It sounds like you are very relaxed in spite of having a newborn and another child to care for, so I would encourage you to rest as much as you can and soak up all pampering you can. I made the mistake of jumping back into things too early after both of my deliveries and ended up prolonging the healing process as a result.

Yep!!! For the first few days my main goal was to try and get a load of laundry done.... Baby just wanted to eat all the time... :) Enjoy! My baby is almost 4 months old now and I have been with him every day, all day of his life and I am amazed at how BIG he is now... Enjoy every second!!!
