The mystery guests

Samantha and Diana were right. :) Becky was flying in for a conference nearby this week so she and her mom and precious little Katherine drove to our home for a short and very encouraging visit this afternoon. It's always so fun to meet people in person that you've known for a long while online. And Becky was everything wonderful I expected her to be!

Our Kathrynne (whom we dubbed "big Kathrynne") enjoyed meeting little Katherine.

Isn't "little Katherine" a doll?
Too cute!

The mommies and the two little "K's."

By the way, can you believe I'm actually posting pictures of my pale swollen self at almost 37 weeks pregnant? I guess my vanity went out the door a long time ago! :)

This is why it sucks living so far away!! Becky is one of my favourite people. I've told my husband that Rhode Island is one of our first stops if we ever get to America.

Oh, by the way, "Surrendered Wives" was on over here a few days ago, only I didn't know until after. A dear friend of mine mentioned in passing that she had watched it, and by her tone, I don't think she was too impressed. And this is from a woman who believes in the principle, QF and all the rest. I'll have to pin her down and pick her brain.

Jenny are you in AU? If so, the showing there of the rendition of "Obedient Wives" - whatever it was they called it - was pretty edited from the UK version, I've heard - they removed all references to our faith, Christianity, the Bible, etc. How they could show us without any of that is beyond me since, um, that's sort of the basis of why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe, but anyway... I've not seen it, though. I have written a review of the UK version if you or anyone else is interested in hearing my thoughts on the program.

What a blessing to have such a nice visitor! And I was thinking how nice you looked. That shirt you were wearing was adorable (such a nice pattern! and its my fave color). Is that one of the one's your sister made you?

I have said it before and I will say it again! Being pregnant is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Its such an awesome part of God's plan/creation. I love seeing pregnant woman and enjoyed being it before. (Not that there weren't a few of those side effects that I didn't enjoy 100%). ;)

You really do not look 37 weeks. I could barely see my feet. I felt like if my adoption last fall didn't end I would have been in the same predicament. Thats a whole other story though. Praying for you to have a beautiful baby and a safe delivery.

Actually, Crystal, I was thinking to myself that you don't look full-term :-). And that's fun that you met Becky! I got to meet her a month or two ago when she was in Georgia for a few days :-). It was so fun to finally meet her!

You gals are very sweet. :)

My face is mostly where the swelling is - gratefully I am not prone to major swelling in my hands and feet, though my legs are definitely carrying some water weight. We could do a before pregnancy side shot and a current side shot and maybe ya'll would change your mind about me looking 37 weeks, though. Almost everyone here is commenting on how huge I look. :) I still haven't gotten on the scales for 14 weeks or so so have no clue how much I've gained. I'm planning to make sure and weigh before the birth if I can track down some scales at the hospital beforehand. :)

Jenny, can you email me your email address and I'll send you the review. Thanks!

That is so neat that you got to meet Becky! I love the pictures of you and your little girls. :) And I agree, you totally do not look like you're 37 weeks! You look so lovely and like you're carrying very gracefully. I looked huge at that point with both pregnancies, and thankfully for me I had my first baby right at 37 weeks and my second at 37 1/2, so I didn't get any bigger than I already was. :) Continuing to keep you in prayer!

Crystal my dear...you do NOT look like you're 37 weeks with your second child. Trust me! (And the dozens of other mommies who've already chimed in with the same comment.)

When I was 37 weeks with my son (my 2nd child), I couldn't reach my feet to put shoes on, get up off the couch w/o help...and I remember my sister laughing hysterically at my "waddle". (Ahem)

You wear pregnancy well, my dear...well indeed.

You'll have to do the side profile shots just to prove you are bigger than you look in those pics!

You look just great!

And that top is a gorgeous colour and pattern - it really suits you!

Oh, Crystal! Are you just being funny or are you serious? You should really accept and honor the outside that God has so graciously blessed you with. You are beautiful -- no matter what size or shape, with child or without. Never question God. He has made you this way. It is His will.

You are carrying like I was for both my pregnancies. Everyone always said how small I was, and the doctor himself predicted that my babies would only be about five pounds. WELL--I didn't have that big of babies, but one was seven pounds and the other was seven and a half pounds,so you can never tell just how big a baby will be just from looking at Mom! :-) I think you had mentioned that you feel like you are bigger this time around, and Kathrynne was close to eight pounds, so I wouldn't be surprised if this baby is between six and seven pounds even being a couple weeks early! :-)

Jenny: Don't worry, I'm just being light-hearted here. :) I've found that laughing about things and having a sense of humor is the best medicine right now with everything that's going on. :) It's a lot healthier for me than sitting and crying and worrying!! Yes, I'm swollen and yes, I'm pale, but this is what God has for me and I'll gladly be swollen and pale and whatever ten or twelve times again for the privilege of carrying a precious little life in me.

Anonymous about the size: I was measuring a little bit bigger than I was with Kathrynne, and in the last few weeks I started measuring smaller than I did with her. So, at this point, I don't know what to expect as far as baby size, but I doubt that this child being born over four weeks earlier than her will be eight pounds! I'm thinking more in the six pound range. We'll see. :) I forgot to ask at the last sonogram last week what they predicted the weight was - not that they can completely tell, but it would have been interesting to know. My midwife thinks the baby is fairly small but not too small. She's hoping that this might help my labor be a bit easier, too. We'll see!

By the way, the shirt I'm wearing is one my sister made for me from her new pattern that I just added a few weeks back to our store. She made me three of these and I've practically lived in them the last few months! :)

Crystal, you look fabulous for being 37 weeks pregnant! I can't even tell you're pregnant from that picture.

That's cool that you actually got to meet someone you've known online. I've wondered what it would be like to meet some of the people in "real life" that I've "met" online.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! You look like a normal pregnant person...tired, but radiant at the same time! :-) I carried small, too, and each time the doctor guessed I would be having a really small baby, especially since I alternated between measuring "right on" to being a little behind average. Every time I've delivered an average sized baby--never preemie size as predicted. Even the ultrasound estimates were WAY off. :-) So I think you still have a good chance of this baby being six pounds. I'd love to see a sideways picture, too! :-)

You look beautiful & I'm thankful to God that you are able to look that way. Some of us aren't able to experience that joy of carrying a child of our own. But God blesses us in other ways. With us it was the adoption of our beautiful Isabella(consecrated to God) Grace(unmerited favor). We'll be praying for you. You are a huge encouragement to me!!

Another Aussie here - and I saw the "Submissive Wives" story on 60 mins. I saw an advertisement for it and recorded it (we don't usually watch it!). I was so excited to see YOU! I kept saying to my dh - I KNOW that lady! Yes, they did edit out any reference to faith and all, and they interviewed a well known Australian feminist as well who was spitting chips!
Anyway, I thought you came over very well :)
I thought I was big for my first few babies. By the time I had had #6, and looked back at old 37 week photos, I wished I could be that small again :)

I'll add my two cents here about how you look, though the physical part of our character is not very important! Of all the photos you've shown, I believe you look the most natural, healthy and radiant in these! (You don't look "big" at all, either!)

May God be with you in your up-coming delivery.
