Mommy's little helper

I was baking some banana bread this week and Kathrynne got out her own bowl, mixing spoon, and recipe book and created her own concoction right beside me.

Isn't it amazing how much our children want to be just like us? From the sentences she crafts, the phrases and expressions she uses, the things she wants to do, Kathrynne is so influenced by us! Oh, how I want to be a Godly example for her! What an incredible responsibility God has entrusted to us in giving us these precious two daughters to raise. It's only by His grace and mercy that we can be faithful to train them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

I love working around the house with Miss Pear! Things take longer, but are so much more fun! This morning she was watching me mop the floor (from the carpet) and she was watching very carefully as I did it, explained what I was doing and why, and how it blessed our family. It was much more fun than just mopping the floor!

Oh so cute picture of Kathrynne! And yes, it is amazing how much our children want to be just like us? And, it's only by Our Heavenly Father's perfect grace and mercy that we can be faithful to train them up to love, know, and serve Him. What an honor!

Amen! Thankfully, He is the only sufficiency we need to be parents or else all of us would be woefully inadequate in and of ourselves!

Blessings,

mom to six and another one on the way

P.S. Crystal, Kathrynne is so cute! Her curls and winning smile are such a pleasure to see! Just wait until you have both girls and maybe two more desiring to be like you.....it remains humbling to say the least! But what more could show us we have their hearts, especially when they are ten (or older, which none of mine are not yet) and still want to be like us!

It is a great responsibility, but God is faithful to give us wisdom as we raise these precious children for Him. Your girls are so sweet!

What a cutie! I know I hear my oldest son say the very things I say. When ever we leave he'll say, "Let's go boys!"
Having kids sure holds a mirror up to our lives every day!

She is so adorable and so happy! You are so right about how much they pick up from us. It is so humbling. Luckily, so far I only see my good qualities and habits coming out in my two-year old daughter, but that has taught me to really be careful of the example I set for her. If she picks up the good things, she will pick up the bad. In many ways, I think my daughter is helping me to become a better person because I want to be the kind of person that is worthy of being emulated by such a sweet little person.

Thanks for sharing your pictures!
