A winner, pictures, and an update
Congratulations to Becky Barnes for winning the Shopping for Time book. For those of you who didn't win, I encourage you to pick up your own copy. It's a great read. Stay tuned as we have quite a few more contests and giveaways planned for the near future here. Who knows? You might be the next winner!
Since so many of you have mentioned enjoying the pictures, here are a few more along with some updates on things at our home...
Kaitlynn is almost three weeks old and almost always thinks she's hungry. No wonder she's growing like a weed! She weighs 7 lb. 5 oz. now and for those of you who know how slowly Kathrynne grew, you will know that this seems like quite a lot to me! She's still on a two-hour schedule, except for night-time when she goes anywhere from 2-4 hours. She is sleeping better during the day and at night - which has been a great blessing for her mama. Her jaundice is gradually improving for which we are thankful.
We are slowly getting back into a routine around here. It helps tremendously that I've been feeling so much better. For those who have been asking about my health, my platelet and hemoglobin levels dropped right after the birth which was to be expected. But only a little over a week after the birth, my labs came back incredibly improved - my hemoglobin was at 11 and my platelets were at 286 (anything between 150-400 is considered healthy, so 286 - which is a massive leap from where I was, is excellent!) Neither Jesse or I or our midwife could believe these results! It is quite apparent that my anemia problems were indeed pregnancy related, as the doctors suspected.
I'm so thankful to have sprung back so quickly. God is gracious. Our goal is now for me to completely regain my health and pull my hemoglobin up to around 14 and keep it there so that should God allow us future pregnancies, I wouldn't struggle with anemia like I did this time. I would love to be able to have a normal pregnancy and delivery next time, but only God knows what the future holds. However, I want to do the best I can to not only trust in Him, but also to put feet to my faith, by seeking to be in the best health possible. I've never been unhealthy in the past and have been careful to not neglect my health, but I definitely know there are areas I can improve in and the last few months have given me great motivation to work a lot harder at this!
We visited the children's animal farm again this past Sunday since we had only made it through half of the farm the week before. One of the places we visited was the dairy barn where Jesse enjoyed explaining to Kathrynne where milk we buy at the store comes from.
I loved this shot taken at the park.
Isn't she darling? Auntie Gretchen (who is staying with us right now) has had fun fixing Kathrynne's hair in all sorts of new styles this week!

Such beautiful little girls you have! Glad to read an update and to see that things are going well for your little family. God has been so good to you! I'm so glad your hemoglobin and platelet counts have come up so drastically.
I always enjoy the pictures... keep 'em coming!
As always, your girls are just darling. I am very glad to hear of the improvements to your health and that you are feeling so much better. Thank you for sharing your family and life with all of us.
Seeing the cow picture reminded me that if you show up at chick fil a on friday the 13th dressed like a cow, you receive a free meal. I'm not sure how many out there have cow costumes laying around their homes (I know I dont) but if you do, it might be worth putting it on and getting a free meal! Jill

Those little girls are absolutely precious! Reminds me of when mine were little, and they are 12 and 8 now! Time does fly!
I have learned a lot about nutrition by reading Train Up Your Children in Ways They Should Eat by Sharon Broer as well as Above Rubies Rejuvenate cookbook. Those two have changed the way I feed myself and my family dramatically!

Such beautiful little gals! So glad you are feeling better, that must be such a relief.
Thank you for being so open and sharing.
The babies are beautiful. I'm so glad you're feeling better. Check out mercola.com today. He's got an article called How do you know if you're anemic. There's alot of good information about foods to eat and herbs to take.
Thanks to the person that mentioned Mercola. Here is a link:
