I liked the interview with the woman with pink/black hair. I liked the point he made about Jesus Christ being used as a cuss word but not Budda, Ghandi, etc..
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I don't watch very much television for that very reason. There are very few shows that don't take the name of God in vain.
I think that people will use the name of the Lord in a blasphemous manner . . . because he's there. And because there is sin in this world and because they hate the Lord. It's the sad state of our world and we shouldn't listen to it if at all possible . . but in this world, it's hard to escape. If I'm witnessing to a person with bad language, I'm still going to witness to them, despite their language. Yes, I'm offended, and no, this is no excuse of watching videos . . . but I think that the point is there. People swear in his name because he is there. Which is really sad.
I checked out the list of movies that have cursed God's name and I was amazed to see several children's movies there, such as Harry Potter, Nancy Drew, SpiderMan 3, Bratz (i'm not suprised about that one though) etc. WOW....So this is what I've missed in the 8 years I haven't owned a TV or gone to the movies.
Thanks Crystal, that was really eye-opening. It's amazing how quickly we can get de-sensitized to things that offend the Lord. Our family always used Philippians 4:8 as a measuring stick for what we would watch or listen to, but unfortunately we've not always been perfect about our choices. And believe me, taking that first step away puts you on a very slippery slope!
Something else also caught my attention... when we watch these movies, we're actually patronizing, or paying the producers to produce this stuff. What COULD we Christians do if we all stuck to Phil. 4:8 and refused to give Hollywood our money?
Great video. I was especially intrigued by the last woman who thought she would be saved because she is a "good person" and goes to church. It make me wonder how many people in our churches each Sunday believe the same thing. I was one of those people for quite some time. It's a wake up call that we need to articulate the gospel a lot more effectively than we do.
Sara Ruth: I put the disclaimer on there only because I wanted to warn parents or those who are younger that there is some graphic content in the video and to realize this before clicking on it. I definitely think a lot of young people need to watch this - especially those who have been exposed to a lot more than they should have at a young age - but I always try to error on the side of caution since we have a number of readers who are 12 and under here and I'd rather that their parents decide whether it's appropriate for them before they watch something. Make sense?
That's really thought-provoking. Personally, we use the Plugged-In online site to screen our movies. I don't see anything that I couldn't take my kids to see.

My husband and I are usually careful as to what we allow ourselves to watch, but, I'm not sure if we've been as careful as we've thought.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it. It is indeed thought provoking.
Mary Beth
why isn't this for younger readers? what about those younger readers who grow up in LA and Hollywood they may be thinking twice about what they watch.

What a shame.
