27 years ago today
27 years ago today a little baby boy was born at 27 weeks by emergency C-section. Though there was a very good chance he wouldn't make it, God spared his life.
When he was very young, this little boy's parents divorced and he spent his early years going back and forth between two different homes and families.
At nine years old, this little boy's mother was diagnosed with cancer. Only a short while later, he began experiencing severe headaches. He endured many months of suffering before the doctors finally discovered the cause of all his pain - a brain tumor. He had to have emergency surgery to remove it. It was not known whether he would survive this tumor, but once again, God spared his life.
Only a few days after being released from the hospital after his surgery, his mother passed away after three long years of battling cancer.
When he was 13, this young man's brain tumor returned and he survived yet another major surgery.
I can vividly remember our family praying fervently that God would spare this young man's life. And God graciously did.
Today that little boy born so tiny and premature he could fit into the palms of one's hands is my husband and my little girls' daddy.
Jesse, I want to publicly honor you today and thank the Lord for miraculously sparing your life more than once so that I could have the privilege of being your wife. I don't ever want to take you or your life for granted.
Thank you for sticking with me in the good times and the hard times, for dreaming big dreams with me, for laughing at my corny jokes, and forgiving me more than seventy times seven. You are the man of my dreams, the one I prayed for for so many years. You are my protector, my leader, my confidante, my cheerleader, and my best friend.
I love you with all of my heart!

THIS IS SO TOUCHING! i had no idea! what a miracle! God has (had) a special plan for this man's life... You are living it by his side everyday! what a privilege, what a blessing from the Lord!
What a wonderful tribute! Truly God's grace and mercy can raise us from the ashes! Happy Birthday Jesse and many blessings to your family. Thank you for allowing Crystal the opportunity to minister through this blog. She is a wonderful example of a godly wife and mother. Whether through her encouraging words of "what works for me," her humbleness in admiting to the blog world her sin, or encouraging us on the straight and narrow. Erica
Beautiful tribute! What a testimony of God's grace on your life Jesse!
Happy Birthday!!! I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful time celebrating!

Happy Birthday!!!
Thanks for sharing the story about Jesse.
Happy Birthday and enjoy your family.
Happy Birthday Jesse! I know Crystal through blogging and we have become friends - but even though I don't know you personally you certainly seem like a wonderful man of God. I am always impressed by the many great things Crystal shares about you. You seem to be a man who strives to be a great husband and father.
Your life journey certainly seems like a miracle and I am sure having been thorough quite a bit you have a perspective that some never seem to get (& at a young age at that). God certainly had a plan for your life, didn't He. God bless you today, and in all your days to come.
Sincerely, Lyn
What an awesome testimony! I teared up as I read it and wanted to thank you for sharing it.
Many Blessings!
I have heard Jesse's story before, and how beautifully encouraging it is! Thank you for sharing your moment to honor the one you love with all of us. It gives us each hope...
Lots of love,
Sommer
Oh Crystal, what a beautiful testimony. God has certainly preserved your husband in such a wonderful way, and has used you both so mightily.
May He continue to shower you with His rich blessings!
Awww!! This made me tear up! :-)
What a beautiful tribute. Happy Birthday Jesse.
Thats amazing, and it just goes to show God will continue to bless us through many different situations. This has brightened up my day, my cousin has went into labour at 27 weeks a few days ago, doctors are doing all they can to stop the labour, but its hopeful to think that a baby can survive that early and then when u add todays technology theres an even greater chance. God Bless your family and I hope your husband and you have a great day!
A Happy Birthday to your husband, Crystal. It was a very moving story!

Happy Birthday, Jesse! Your family and your life are an inspiration to us blog readers!! We have an 'anniversary' on September 11th too... it's the anniversary of our engagement! I was so sad when it became such a tragic day for all Americans. So, I celebrate your happy September 11th birthday as we celebrate our own special little September 11th. (and the funny thing is, you were a babe of six years old on our September 11th engagement day! Whew! Where does the time go?)
Happy Birthday!
It was so wonderful that you chose to honor your husband especially in front of others. I hope you have a truly blessed day!
This touching tale made me cry! I'm so glad Jesse survived and is a wonderful hubby and father! God bless him!
My own husband's 27th birthday is also coming soon. I admire your decision to honor him so publicly. Thank you for an inspirational blog. You are a strong woman, and the world needs more like you.
