Kathrynne's rendition of "Whiter Than Snow"

We've been singing the hymn Whiter Than Snow this month in our family worship and Kathrynne has learned almost every word to all four verses.

We attempted to get a video of her singing all four verses on Sunday thinking it should be pretty simple to accomplish since she always does such a great job of singing it. Well, we were certainly wrong on that - between Kaitlynn crying, Kathrynne forgetting the words, Kathrynne getting up and running somewhere else in the middle... it wasn't as easy of a feat as we originally thought!

After literally 20 tries, this was the best one of them all (excuse her sneeze in the middle and my forgetting the first part of the third verse!):

And just for fun, here are two of the nineteen outtakes:
Outtake #1 (isn't this more like real-life?!)

Outtake #2 (Because this was just one of my favorites!)

No one was supposed to notice *my* singing. I can carry a tune alright and I enjoy singing, but singing is most certainly not at the top of my short list of things I'm skilled in.

Now that is something her grandparents will surely love! I remember my little girl singing at church and burping during the middle of the song, didn't stop her though, she kept right on singing!

My 2 year old watched these adorable videos with me and he is enamored with Kathrynne.

He says that he really likes that little girl. Funny how he calls her "little" when she isn't much younger than he is.

I've been a "lurker" for a while, but this video just captured my heart! I'm pregnant with my 1st, and believe so strongly that children should learn hymns at a young age! Lord willing, mine will love to sing as much as yours!

My four-year old said "Bless you" when she sneezed.

One of the reasons I am VERY quiet when making a video is so I don't have to hear myself later!

Precious.

Mrs. Paine,

She is just TOO precious!!! I can't wait to show these to my mom-she will love them!! Thank you for sharing the "outtakes" as well-those are always so much fun to see. What a blessing it is to see someone so young already singing just beautiful, Biblical songs! And I'm amazed that she knows all that! That is so wonderful, and shows what kind of parents she has!! :) She is really blessed.

She can carry a tune so well! And your voice is just beautiful as well. Thanks so much for sharing these precious videos with us!

Many blessings,
Rebekah Ann Shadoin

Glad you posted some "real life" takes aswell. She did so well on that first one, but the others are sure to be sweet memories for you someday. :-) You're such an inspiration~ I have an 8 month old, and I love seeing all that you've taught Kathrynne so far. It helps me know where to aim with teaching my baby! Oh, and you're very patient to keep taping fo 20 times without getting too frustrated!

You have a beautiful voice and Kathrynne is so cute! My 2.5 yr. old daughter's favorite is I Must Tell Jesus. She loved watching Kathrynne and had to imitate it by singing into the computer microphone. Where did you get that lovely dress for her? I would like to get one for my girl!

Kathrynne is TOO precious! She has grown up so much since the baby came. She reminded me of our girls when they were that age. Enjoy these days, Crystal! My dc are 17, 13, and 10 and it seems like they got here overnight. Thanks for sharing this precious video with us!

Your daughter is doing such a good job. It really does seem like she know her song well. I had a question for you if you get a chance to answer me. I remember you posted about the Your Baby Can Read. I wanted to buy these videos for my 18 month old, but my husband immediately asked me what is the music like. We're strict on our music standards and wondering if you could help me with this. I would very much appreciate any input you have about the music that might be on those videos. Thank you so much!!
