Suffice it to say, I think she has her mother's sweet tooth
A few minutes later, I turned around to find her coughing and looking completely disgusted. Being the inexperienced mom that I am, it took me a few moments to realize she'd decided to test out my theory that that white powder in the orange box was "really yucky tasting stuff."
And she quickly discovered that Mom indeed was right.
Before I could come to her rescue with a glass of water to wash out that "really yucky tasting stuff", she looked at me and choked out the words in between her coughing:
"I need some sugar."
Why, of course! Don't chocolate and sugar always make everything better?!

LOL. This reminds me of my daughter, too. As I was cooking I looked over to find her chugging garlic powder. She threw it up pretty quickly and hasn't been quite as adventurous in the kitchen since. I definitely agree with Kathrynne that chcolate can improve any bad taste though.
Just to hilarious! Kathrynne's right though, chocolate and sugar DOES make everything better :-)

mmmmmmm I wonder whether I should test her theroy Im sure chocolate and sugar would make everything better
ahhh a perfect lesson in listening to mamma and a perfect example of how moma makes all things better...sugar and spice and everything nice :o)

cholate the nectar of life.
My mom told me that unsweetened chocolate was yucky, I had to taste it to be sure as well as vanilla. Sometimes as long as it is not dangerous it is good for them to learn the hard way!
My brother had to learn the hard way when he would eat whatever we were mixing by sneaking a fingerful, one day while mixing up flour wallpaper paste he learned why we warned him about it!
LOL
Way too funny!!
Heehee... that is just too funny! I ate some baking soda once, and I thought my face was going to turn inside-out. Ugh. *gag*
My daughter decided that it would be funny to pour baking soda into a bowl that I had been using for powdered sugar. I thought it looked a little odd, so I tasted it to be sure that it was still good. Eww... I surely could have used some chocolate and sugar!! I think Kathrynne is onto something.... :)
How cute! :-)
that is so funny.
it reminds me of a story about my 7 y.o. niece when they were here...
stumbling out first thing one morning, looking anything but awake and with it, she buried her face in my sister's skirt and murmured, "i need coffee..."
we cracked up. btw, my sister doesn't give her kids coffee to wake them in the morning! :)
Do you know a while ago you were saying you were nothing like a "prairie mom"? Well that exact scenario happened in the Little House books with Laura and her mother, but with curds! Irony's a funny thing :)
You mention that Kathrynne was helping you in the kitchen, and in another post you said she helped you make juice. I wonder if you might do a blog entry some time about when (at what age) and how you started having her help you in the kitchen?
(My little girl is 15 months, and so far just likes to take things out of the fridge!)
